Do you ever forget certain states exist?

I'm quite done with Vermont. It's a great place if you can afford it, and preferably have roots there, but it'll never feel like home to me. It's definitely the type of place people move to 'get away from it all', which is not really my goal.

Settling in Vermont and opening a small funky mail/net-order business is something of a status achievement for rich people from the NYC and Boston metro areas, I've noticed.

i couldn't agree more.
the vermont i knew is so different from vermont today. there were more cows than people and a whole lot of poverty and illiteracy. i actually went to grade school in new york state and high school in western mass cuz the vt schools were so crappy.

when i lived on the west coast i forgot that the midwest existed, except for chicago, which should be it's own state. now i'm back in wisconsin and can't wait to leave and forget about it all over again

izzy66, yeah, I'd say pretty much all of Vermont is gentrified now, and the locals enjoy one of the nation's highest standards of living. My home upstate NY, for all its natural beauty, just never attracted quite the same amount of tourism and investment from downstate, and remains poor today. Not that I really mind, when I go home to see my family -- I feel like we've got all this natural beauty to ourselves.

I would like to forget Iowa exists...

People day "oh you guys have potatoes right?"
No fucktard thats IDAHO

Thankfully i live in england - we know usa only has new york, florida and california - are the rest counties in these three countinents ? hahaha ;)

I wonder how many people realise West Virginia is entirely different from western Virginia lol.

You shouldn't ignore Iowa. Its one of the best kept secrets in the country.scenery like from the Garden of Eden.friendly locals..and when there's a bumper harvest there's lots and I mean LOTS of $$ around

I dated a guy who called himself a Japabilly cause his mom was from Kentucky and his dad was Japanese.
