do you drive when you're high?

If you have to be stoned all the time as a side-effect of treatment for a debilitating medical condition, you can probably justify driving high. Recreational use followed by driving isn't necessary at all, it's selfish, reckless endangerment of others.

There are degrees of recklessness and severities of danger. Once one has been smoking for a while and especially when one is an every day smoker driving say an hour after smoking is not very reckless. Possibly no more of an effect on driving competence as having a stressful day at work and or being hungry or something.

i personally wouldn't recommend it. i don't know first hand because i've never driven high (well i've never driven at all. i don't have my license yet). it doesn't seem like the smartest idea though.

I'm making a specific comparison between two drugs-cannabis and amphetamines. Stimulants increase alertness and reduce reaction time; therefore, I could actually make the argument that it's a good idea to drive on speed. I don't think anyone would be persuaded by that though.

No, you are very right, but I'm not saying anything about weed other than it doesn't impact my driving unless I'm doing something like eating it. At one point, it defiantly did, but at this point, not really at all. But I certainly didn't just jump behind the wheel my first time high and peel out into the streets hoping for the best, I road around for an hour in a parking lot getting the feel of it. I suppose it would come down to approach or personality, so it's hard to come to a complete agreement on whether this is right or not.

To be honest, I would compare driving while high to being as dangerous as driving while smoking a cig.

Yerg, I like how you draw a comparison between cannabis and amphetamines.

Cannabis decreases reaction time but this semms to subside once there is tolerance developed.

Much unlike cannabis, tolerance to amphetamines can actually DECREASES reaction time. Sure the first time you take a dexedrine tablet you feel more alert and your senses feel hightened, but daily use or abuse can make this effect fade right out.

I believe some canadian soldiers were killed by jacked up american fighter pilots.
