do steroid affect the size of your *ahem* ...package

no, that's why you possibly heard stuff in the media about baseball players' heads'/hats getting bigger

and Roger thought it's a minor point, hcg is taken on cycle to prevent the testes from ever shutting down

Yeah guys who use steroids have small packages, just look at the Body Building competitions, there is nothing is those trunks, sad!!!

why sad ?

are women with no boobs sad too ?

maybe you are sad ?

steroids can shrink the penis, especially if the progesterogenic ones (deca) are not taken with a sufficient dose of testosterone. I read this on a bodybuilding site and I also know of a friend whom this happened too when he did a deca only cycle (stupid I know). It makes sense medically, DHT maintains penis size, if you shut down endogenous test with deca et al and don't replace it with something like test prop, enanth etc... then you have no DHT in your system and the penis begins to shrink. Penis shrinking can also happen in transgenderred individuals who shut down their natural test production willingly.

^^I don't believe this. Please state some more scientific sources. I've only head of/read deca shutting down one's penis in effect, not literally shrinking it. Being unable to get it hard, and shrinking and not one in the same.

It's from personal experience with someone I know and it was also stated by an admin on a bodybuilding site as happening to someone he knew, I forgot the site, but it was the one with the purple colour scheme and an extensive men's health section.

lack of DHT will shrink the penis, as would be the case with a deca only cycle.

There is this much-circulated misconception about steroids making the penis smaller. The fact is that steroids can make the testicles shrink but not the penis. This is because when steroids are introduced in the body, the testicles stop their production of testosterone thereby decreasing their size due to disuse.

Steroid abuse among males usually carries the stigma of a shrinking sex organ, however, it’s the testicles that actually atrophy. The testicles stop production of natural testosterone while anabolic steroids are being used. They can shrivel from disuse and cause temporary sterility. Permanent sterility from prolonged steroid abuse has not been determined. The penis is generally unaffected, discounting the potential for more frequent and often embarrassing erections due to the increased sex drive from the large amount of artificial testosterone.

Conversely, in women, anabolic steroid abuse can cause the clitoris to grow in length due to the introduction of synthetic male hormones.

^in any of those sources did they measure penises before and after steroid use? If not then they are all worthless for the topic at hand.

There is enough anecdotal evidence on most bodybuilding forums for guys that have lost size of their johnson for people to start taking the idea seriously.

These blanket denials you get on forums borderlines pathological behaviour. Guys are saying they lost size, why would they lie? Their prose makes them appear genuine.

Steroids and the penis

Bill,

My question is do steroids have any effect on the penis, does it shrink or grow or is there ant effects on the penis that doesn’t have to do with the testes.

Devon

I’ve been told by a doctor that it is medically impossible for shrinkage to result from steroid use, but I am not sure that is true. A friend (who goes by the name Juice Lee, believe it or not) insists that he did actually did lose half an inch. He says that luckily he had enough to easily spare that, but would still rather have it back.

I suspect that this is a phenomenon similar to what is seen when one voluntarily contracts the PCG muscle: the penis shortens.

It is not I think that the penis itself really gets shorter, but that it can be pulled in by this muscle. Thus the effect might be reversible with stretching. JL will get on that right away and we’ll report the results.

^^You are getting your information from kids posting on message boards and forums.

The information I supplied to you came from actual MDs who have wrote actual books and medical journals. You can take a doctor or a scientists word for it...or not, it's up to you. Some find the rants of a child in a forum much more informative.

To answer your question, in “Steroid Phobia: myth vs. fact’” Andy Nish, MD, Allergy & Asthma Advocate: Summer 2004, a study was done on testicular atrophy. There, both the penis and testicles were measured in a control group, before and after. The diameter of the testis did drop, but there was no change in length or girth on the penis.

I'll also speak from my personal experience. I've experimented with MANY kinds of AAS and not ever, had I had my penis shrink.

If you can show some medical documented proof (aside from some post on a message board or forum) I'd greatly appreciate you posting it. Thanks!

I could imagine that after a hard cycle endogenous test levels would take a 'minute' to get back up to normal...in the meantime lower test would result in lower sex drive which would result in more flacid erections (which would make the penis appear like it had shrunk).

Does this make sense?

you didn't look at the link at all.

They tested all the types of steroids then? They are all very different. I can't find the article, so I am left guessing.

Who is going to fund a study like that...all I am sayingis that there is anecdotal evidence of something possibly going on in a small percentage of cases with certain particular steroids. Adults on various bodybuilding forums have posted their troubles with this issue. All I am saying is that dogmatism is not needed in this issue.

I could imagine that after a hard cycle endogenous test levels would take a 'minute' to get back up to normal...in the meantime lower test would result in lower sex drive which would result in more flacid erections (which would make the penis appear like it had shrunk).

Anabolic steroid induced hypogonadism (ASIH) can make that "minute" a literal eternity and does make the picture more complicated. But the above example I gave, the poster is quite explicit.

Weapons of penile smooth muscle destruction: androgen deficiency promotes accumulation of adipocytes in the corpus cavernosum.

^This is what would happen during and after a deca only cycle.

The top of the skull is all flatbone and I can't exactly remember how growth works with them but in long bones like the tibia once the epiphysis fuses you are done.

why the hell would anybody run a deca only cycle? that sounds horrendous

You will see some guys running deca only, but not so much for it's anabolic effects.

Some guys run it year round (at VERY low doses) for the primary reason of joint pain. Deca does wonders to your joints by adding a little water there. Water retention can have some positive effects. The added water can allow for more sets and more weight, yielding more overall productive workouts.

But, I agree with you, to run a deca only "cycle" for anabolic reasons, does indeed sound horrendous.

Ive seen low dose deca+gh schedules for join pain and recovery but as a standalone cycle it is a stupid idea.

Steroids do shrink your testicles without proper PCT. But it does not change size of johnson, maybe u look smaller being so big.

yup, steroids affect the size of your junk but not your joint. ive had my junk reduced during a cycle, they tuck back more and dont swing. at most, it is a physical annoyance but at the end of the cycle the hcg(not hgh) makes the boys drop overnight. doesnt matter about the DHT or deca or whatever, the joint stays the same. competition bodybuilders use the sauce all year round for many years. they are committed to juice and have long since seen their balls atrophy beyond repair. all the "pros" dancing around on stage in bikini briefs with no bulge is because they have no nuts to push their joint forward. they are like trannies: tucked.

Agree that steroids cause testicular atrophy (among other things) but do not affect the size of the penis.

Self-reporting by individuals on body-building boards is extremely unreliable on just about any subject. I'd imagine that lack of reliability to be increased by a factor of ten on this subject.
