do steroid affect the size of your *ahem* ...package for guys?

i am a girl, and have never tried steroids but i recently heard that steroid use causes a guys package to get signifigantly smaller and i was curious if this was true?

no this is a dumb myth.
It can shrink your testicles though.

Testicles are part of the package, and yes, it can shrink them.. but only temporarily or not at all if the person takes the right post cycle therapy
 
It has the potential to make anything bigger, even tumours.

You'd still have to work your dick and stretch it or what not, and where there are tears it'll just heal quicker and easier. Your PC muscle is what'll strengthen.
 
Yeah guys who use steroids have small packages, just look at the Body Building competitions, there is nothing is those trunks, sad!!!

Well in those muscle competitions they pump up back stage to get the blood flowing into their muscles, of course they won't have a boner when they need all the blood to make everything else look bigger.
 
"Package" is vague. There are multiple organs in the term package. The penis does not shrink. The testicles however might. The degree of testicular atrophy varies depending on drug, dosage, and duration of administration. Also atrophy will vary person to person. One person may see severe atrophy while another sees none at all.

The atrophy is from a decrease in cellular volume of the leydig cells in the testicles. The volume of the leydig cells is reduced because they are no longer bieng filled with water and nutrients to produce testosterone and sperm. This is due to the fact that androgens are bieng administered exogenously and your body detects the elevated androgen levels and reduces its own androgen production.

Upon cessation of exogenous androgens the testicles will resume normal function and normal size.

Normal function of the testicles can be artificially stimulated through the use of fertility drugs such as HCG/HMG while administering exogenous androgens. If properly dosed the testicles will retain size and function, although the HPTA as a whole will not retain proper function.

Perhaps in some cases you might be correct. But, I would not go so far as to use a broad stroke and say, "guys who use steroids have small packages".

If that was the case, why are men who work in the porn industry being constantly fed steroids? So they can show "smaller packages" on screen? I think not.

Chucky is a regular troll in SD...He never has any useful information to share, and always gives his little spill on why steroids are bad. We get it, you don't believe in using steroids the same as I don't believe in putting blow up my nose(one of your admitted hobbies) but you don't see me in other drugs talking shit constantly. What are you looking to accomplish?

Chuck, I think you have a secret desire to use performance enhancing compounds. Watch, in 6 months we're going to find out you did a cycle. You seem awfully 'interested' in steroids to be on the side of the fence you claim. It just seems strange that you frequent this forum as much as you do, and you can say it's just for fitness info, but I'm not so sure. Better go ahead and change your name to juicer1432

After lifting weights for the past 18 years and not using that stuff, I don't see myself going that route, it would be kind of pointless now, because I have already accomplished so much on my own:|

I just pop in here every now and then to see what you guys are talking about..

Yes, it grows everything indiscriminately. I shook hands with Ronnie Coleman once, and those hands were huge -- I mean they were freakin' mitts. GH is capable of making you look very freaky; just look at Ronnie's stomach, its all distended because his organs have grown so much.

And to the OP: While actively on a steroid cycle, it will temporarily shrink a man's testicles because the body is already being supplied with androgenic hormones so the testicles are not needed to produce testosterone. When the steroid cycle is finished, the athlete will take a drug like clomiphene, and ideally also human chorionic gonadotropin which is a hormone that stimulates the testicles to start producing testosterone again; this regimen is called "post-cycle therapy" and will bring one's little fellas back to full size quickly.

Did he take HGH before he finished growing, though? I thought that after your growth plates have closed, bones can't lengthen at all. So if his hands were bigger it would just be due to increased muscle / tissue / water retention, like in acromegally, no?
