Do drugs change how you look?

Emphasis is to be placed on one's lifestyle more than the actual drugs themselves. One of the best harm reduction techniques is just taking care of yourself. If you can afford to spend money on drugs, then you can also spend money on healthy food and supplements to make sure you are staying well. Treat your skin well with the right beauty products and exercise too.

There are some drugs, however, that should be completely avoided, such as amphetamines, cocaine, and prescription stimulants. Such drugs really are age excelerants. There is no high that is worth damaging your body.

I take amp once in a while, and yes I do agree that they take a toll on your body. But you may be able to minimize the damage by keeping hydrated, getting your minerals, your sleep, taking antiox, follow a scheduled diet, etc. That way I can keep my skin clear even on amp, but I never take it for more than 1-3 days in a row. But, sadly, stimulants and uppers are probably the worst for your body, "metabolically" speaking.

In the face? I'm a pretty good looking guy, been called an 8.5/10, and I am 19 years old. I'm not worried about my body because i wokout 4 times a week and have a pretty fit physique. I've been smoking weed since 15 and I'm no worse for the wear, but over the past 7 months i've been getting into oxycontin (snorting 40mg once every 2 or 3 days) and popping percs on occasion. i really want to start doing Ecstasy and shrooms on maybe a once every 3 month basis, maybe acid once a year. i'll summarize this.

1. Do drugs make your face go to shit? Like do they make your skin wrinkly and nasty looking?
2. Will I develop that junkie look with the bags under the eyes and worn out looking?
3. And just out of idol curiosity, how bad do hard drugs (coke, meth, heroin) fuck up your face?

Sorry if this post sounds a bit wierd, I'm feelin pretty damn good, just snorted 50mg oxy and popped a 10 mg perc. :)

Someone actually said you were an 8.5/10? Thats kind of odd, being judged on a ratio scale. Whenever did that conversation get brought up? Just sounds weird.

1. Sure, if you don't take care of yourself while using drugs your face can look all nasty...acne, wrinkly skin, bags under your eyes, pale face. Some drugs that you may get caught up in can tend to make you forget or not care about personal hygiene. If you are and remember to use skin care products, eat healthy, sleep right, shower and try to get out a little in the sun while using drugs than the chance of facial features turning to crap is less likely.
2. You won't turn out looking worn out as long as you do what I mentioned earlier. It's really up to you and how you decide to take care of yourself. However, those bags under your eyes that you get from using opiates on a certain basis (like you are with the oxycodone) for a good length is due to feeling sedated and tired all the time.
3. Some hard drugs can have your face looking worn out/crappy despite good hygiene. Take heroin and hard opiates for example, bags under your eyes will always be there if you have been using them for awhile on a constant basis is because of over sedation. Stimulants can really age your looks. Some like methamphtamine can cause "speed bumps" (big pimples around an area of your face) that is hard to be prevented regardless of how well you take care of your skin with products. Although they can eventually go away after doing so, they can reappear again at any time.

I've seen people who've used heroin and meth for a couple of years, and look almost exactly the same as they did before ever using drugs. I've also seen people, myself included, who underwent a noticeable change in appearance after a few months (especially true of meth). I've gained back most of the weight that I lost while I was using, but my face isn't as round, or friendly as it once was. There's something different in my eyes, I've been told, and it's apparently not a good thing.
I guess it completely comes down to how each drug affects you personally, and how well you take care of your body (hygiene, eating, etc).

showered right before bed, so in the morning when i woke up for class, my hair was always as disheveled as possible. I thought it looked good. I'm sure most girls didn't though. can't guys do heroin chic?

I'm all about the messy hair myself. and I too, am a male that, I think, does the heroin chic look.

and the thing about the eyes, I've heard that about heroin and stuff. its like theres no soul in your eyes anymore. thats the best way I can describe it.

people using meth for years, and looking the same? Well,
that's news to me. Or they can't be using much!! Meth is one of the most destructive drugs to the body. Google "meth faces", yeah I know you'll see the extreme examples pop up, but I think all longterm users would have some kind of visible damage (more prone to acne, skin disorders, dry skin, etc.) for a while AFTER stopping the drug.

this guy I was in rehab with had some fucked up hands from making meth. he was a user too, but what I'm saying is, that stuff is so bad you don't even have to use it to get some permanent marks from it. its like his hands were a different colour than the rest of him, and they looked SUPER dry at all times.

They use pretty heavily most days, but also force themselves to eat, sleep, shower, all that. Somehow it's taken almost no toll on their appearance, not yet anyway.

any drug can depending on the person. weed and opiates leave me with baggy eyes (for days if high enough dose). coke n meth... tend to get very strung out looking faces- boney and muscular. and meth just destroys everything....

After just a year my facial features changed noticeably, there are definitely some changes even if you don't notice em. Other than that I didn't have much besides skin breaking out and what not. My hair became a bit frail or w/e too, just wasn't as soft... And I lost some weight all over as expected.

I had a 3 year meth addiction, using virtually every day. It definitely changed the way I looked... my weight dropped down to 45kg's, I became very pale with dark circles under my eyes, I got "meth mouth" with rotting teeth and receding gums, and I had noticeable sores on my face from scratching at my skin. Meth seems to be the worst drug for ruining your appearance.

the drugs that will modify your looks the most are
3)Heroin

in what ways does heroin change your appearance?

I do know the sunken in cheeks, but thats if you don't eat enough.
and track marks I guess....

does anyone know if opiate use can cause your teeth to break?

I've got two broken teeth, and I had a friend tell me he did too and it was because of our heroin/any opiate use. but I think it could be because I tend to clench my jaws a lot when I get real anxious. I think this weakened it and eventually it broke a little and continues to just break a little at a time.

I got one thats almost completely gone, and one where its pretty much just half a tooth. luckily they're in the back of my mouth so you can't see them. and now that I've got insurance, once I"m done with chemo I'm gonna get the OK from my oncologist to see a dentist and hopefully get 'em pulled and see what my options are from there.

^^ have u stopped using Sweet P??

I quit meth about 2 months ago, but I've had the odd slip-up since then.

I'm now using dexamphetamine to help me function, and deal with depression and PAWS.

I have pretty blue eyes, so when I used to take morphine and nodded out all the time, no one could see the "windows to the soul"

Yes...

IE.. Weed can get you chubby if you react to munchies..
H - Sunken Junkie look , which is attractive on some.. Pinned Pupils, they say smoking off foil causes the oils to be caught on ur face , which inturn if you pick...

Meth - STAY AWAY FROM MIRRORS WHILE ON METH!..Ladies , especially u..we need our eyebrows..

Oxy.. Going WITHOUT once ur an addict , causes the raccoon look , which again can be attractive to some , never liked it on my self..

and YeS! Opiates have caused tooth damage , seen it in sooooooo many people from H , and I only got down with the OCs..but my teeth got week , and Ive had multiple oral piercings for over a decade , that didnt do the damage Opiates have done..

Xtacy - Some feel they look better the next day ( usually due to the flushed cheeks and water weight lost )

Xanax - Causes you to look like an Idiot , when you accuse the non english speaking neighbor of stealing your wallet ,which you really left on the bumper of your car when you were lighting a cig the night before..

Shrooms/Cid - STAY OUT OF THE MIRROR And GET OUTSIDE..it can help you avoid errors that dramatically change ur looks near immediately..

Sure , it depends on your rituals..but short answer , YES.

Also , ( i wasnt able to edit )

Ethnic / nationality bares a difference... Some ethnicities "age better" than others..

Women with more melanin seem to be able to hide all sorts of secrets , cig smoking , tanning... drug use.. Freckles can be camouflage..

Consider how you looked to begin with , I have a friend whos mom has been on meth over 20 + Years , she is the most on th3 ball pistol you ever have met , but shes a dead give away , you can see the meth use miles away...

1) Methamphetamine
2)Crack
3)Heroin

of course this is only if you abuse them for a long term... except the meth which will change your looks quite quick

IMO meth shares the 1st place with mdpv. I lost so much weight on 4 week binge it's unbelievable. Of course i have now gained everything back (including my life lol) since mdpv is now illegal where i live.
