I happened to fall in some thread at some other site telling that it was good practice to take a break of rilitan/aderla once a weak so as to reequilibrate your brain chem etc.
I took the advice and so far it's been a disaster. Just the expectation last night of not taking oral 30mg adderall or 60mg ritilian for 24hrs made me completely awake until 4am, when I was forced to swallow 7 Rohypnol ellipsoids (in Brazil, they are the cheapest, crapiest hypnotics available, being also legal and widely prescribed). I slept until 8am, felt like shit until 3pm, when I took 2 Dormonid ellipsoids (think you call them Versed in US), which gave me some comfort though not put me to sleep in the afternoon (I wanted to sleep while as I`m typing this).
Should I forget about these horror holidays or try another next week?
By the way, I soundly sleep without benzos when in my normal stim regimen.

Is it considered addiction taking something harmless in order to live better? If so, is it worth stopping it just to be called psycho-addiction free?

i have adhd, ive been perscribed, concerta, strattera, adderal and dexedrine, recently i started abusing my dexedrine, but i do need it to acomplish anything, just don't take it on the weekends when your not working or school , just a day, when you can smoke a few bowls, and relax,

all ive aten in the past two days is a quarter of a delico pizza,
you should take a holiday, i recomend it, it will clear your mind

First of all amphetamines are not harmless. They're pretty low on the 'you might die if you take this' scale, but chronic use is NOT good for you, especially in higher recreational doses. Not accusing OP of not needing adderall, but there are plenty of cases where adderall is dangerous.

And yes, even in therapeutic use if you have any withdrawal symptoms, it's an addiction. Whether the addiction has a negative net impact on your life is up for debate.

i agree they are very addictive, but i also agree they can be very beneficial if used properally, im on the fence about this one,i had excellent in grade 12 and actually enjoyed doing home and anything i lost my laziness, and when i went off them i made alot of stupid mistakes and did stupid shit, fucking adhd, but at the same time, now i abuse my dex

Hi everibody,sorry for my english,
Amphetamines are very adictive, when i was 15 i was very dependent of them for some years (preludin, speed crystal, desoxyephedrine), now i´m more than 40 and i´m still dependent of them! of course i don´t use them very often, but i can say tehy are the only stuff i love in reality. I was many years in heroin, codeine, metaqualone, morphine, but...speed beats them all, people who likes speed never lose his adiction!
CotoCole, is good to see that other people from Brasil is here, if you permit me a advice: be carefull whith amphs, if you can take a pause, do it.

As blasted as I'll probably get for this, while a find 2-3 day speed binge a blast about omce every 5 months. I just diappear for a while and then he returms .

In all the myriad of drugs I access to over the years I found speed to be the easiest to wolk away from. That and coke. Not that I haven't indulged plenty.

Just I have a lot more trouble with sedatives/opiates.

I think breaks from every drug are necessary

If you would like to be able to continue your drug use, keep the fun to a maximum, and maintain a healthy and well rounded life, you should attempt to keep a handle on your use. Breaks are very important and so is finding other things you enjoy in your life.

That's the golden question OP! If you still find benefit from amphetamine/methylphenidate with prolonged usage, then I would encourage you to take it them indefinitely. It isn't as if ADD kids don't do this all over the world.

woah woah, hold up right there...

methylphenidate (ritalin) and amphetamines (adderall) are not harmless at all. and they are very addicting (both physically and psychologically), especially at the rate you take them at...

The amount I take is prescribed and at the range recomended in the package insert. Could you mention at least one harmfull effect of pharmaceutical amps or mph that makes it more dangerous than aspirin? Remember that I'm not currently snorting anything.

So you sleep and function well while on your normal regimen of Amp/Methylphenidate, but when you stopped taking them you couldn't sleep, and didn't even sleep well with all that Flunitrazepam and Midazolam? That seems paradoxical, because most people would crash hard if they abruptly stopped taking their stimulant regimen, and would need or prefer Benzos to aid sleep while on their stimulant regimen.

Either way, I'd say take a break from the stims if you are able to do so. Even though you may feel like shit, you're body and brain will appreciate it.

Of course it's bizarre that I get insomnia when I'm not on stims, otherwise I would not post anything. I feel sleepy, can't think correctly, don't fall asleep, eat a bunch of flunitrazepam (REALLY cheap here), sleep, wake up retarded, don't take the stims because the residual effect of the fluni lasts forever and is stronger than the stims, which I won't waste, all this for the sake of the mandatory holidays.

Sorry for the two consecutive posts, but the original poster, after some failed attempts, has changed state and now can alternate with great success days on and off Ritalin, without seriously compromising functionality or resourcing to drug substitution.

They aren't that addictive .

Me and most people I know manage to keep it a once every 1-2 month thing.
