The ecstasy recipe book that's killing young people like Charlotte - and turning others into raging monsters

  • People behaving as though possessed after taking 2CB reported across UK
  • Five young people have died in the past five weeks after taking ecstasy
  • Fears that highly dangerous, super-strength drugs are infiltrating Britain
  • Chemicals are smuggled from the Far East to underground labs in Europe
  • Chemists try to produce 'better' versions of illegal drugs such as ecstasy
  • Pills then sent to Britain where people believe they are 'tried and tested'

The evening began in a civilised fashion in an upmarket pub on the outskirts of London. The young couple enjoyed a couple of drinks then both took a new pill that they'd heard about and which had become much sought-after.
The drug, called 2CB, would heighten their senses, increase their energy levels and give them a warm feeling of well-being and goodwill towards everyone around them. That's what they had been told, anyway.
Instead, both were seized by a violent rage and tried to overturn the heavy wooden table they were seated at. They were thrown out of the pub, and the man ran into the street in a demented state, believing his face was on fire. His heart was pounding at such a furious rate he thought he was going to have a heart attack.

Shulgin, who has somehow made it to the age of 87, is 'credited' with rediscovering ecstasy (MDMA) — which had been largely forgotten since its creation in 1912 by a chemist trying to find a cure for abnormal bleeding.
PiHKAL describes in detail Shulgin's experiments in developing and enthusiastically testing more than 230 psychoactive compounds, including MDMA, in the Sixties and Seventies.

I love how they equate alcohol with "civilised". Dont they know that civilisation has always done drugs.

If they're going to attack Shulgin for something, I would think it would be PMA. Not that I think he merits attack.

I wish more people would file libel lawsuits against newspapers that write false reports about drugs.

what is it, that makes the rounds now as "2CB"? 2c-b has been around for ages and sure has a reputation as a gentle psychdelic and there have never been reports of people freaking out like that. the newspapers don't have enough credibility for them to convince that what they're referring to is really 2c-b.

"Shulgin, who has somehow made it to the age of 87"

i lold when read this. cuz you know some one who uses psychedelics should'nt live into there late 80s and beyond. psychedelic drugs are illegal and immoral and are bad. now go drink yourself into a stupor, chainsmoke and eat gmo's and over processed food ladden in sugar trans fatty acids and any other toxic garbage they pump it full of

i think shulgin does or has smoked pipe tobacco i believe. dont quote me on it though. i do recall reading one of his trip reports where he mentions smoking pipe tobacco
