Dissociating from reality

hi D n A, i have a lot of experience, years, of serious, heavy drug use: the dissociative feelings you are experiencing, are, imho, temporary, as evident by the fact that you realize they are not normal.....psychotics don't reallze this fact, and from what <3i've seen, this includes psychosis stemming from drug abuse. i'd keep very active, take SUPPLEMENTS: vit. b comblex, a multi, calcium/magnesium in a 2:1 ratio, on an emtpy stomach, just the minerals, on an empty stomach, and fish oil or lecithin, this, like the vitamins, on a full stomach. all of this will help your brain rebuild itself and help your nerves relax. and exercise A LOT.... when i was going through serious acute w/ds, and even PAWS, strenuous exercise was the only thing that kept me from wanting to kill people...... you'll be fine. the suggestion to see a Dr. is worth a try. they can give you non addictive meds that could help through the tough parts. good luck.

I would strongly encourage you to be evaluated by a physician. Your symptoms are also consistent with a seizure disorder. A doctor is not going to turn you into the police because you have a history of substance abuse.
Won't they keep it on my medical record though? Because that will really fuck things up for my future self. Like, big time.

Your medical records are confidential so they aren't going to show anyone without your permission (such as employers etc). I think in general it is wise to keep your drug usage private but as you are specifically asking about something which may be caused by drugs it will be easier for your doctor to help you if you are honest.

It seems like time and living healthily might help your body return itself to normal so I would give it some time first, but of course if you really feel that your only option to put your mind at ease is to see a doctor then by all means go for it, your medical records are secret :).

Medical records aren't private from other doctors though, are they? That might lead to trouble with future prescriptions or current ones.

depending on your medical situation, they are private from other doctors. i don't know where you live, here, in N America, there are PPOs, HMOs, and beasts like Kaiser. i was with Kaiser, and they pretty much could see other doctors' notes, but were honestly usually too busy to read them carefully, and while i was treated in the chemical dependency unit, those records were actually kept PRIVATE from all of my other doctors.... in other medical situations, like a PPO, or regular HMO, really, another doctor isn't going to see what another one wrote, w/o your permission, or serious investigative skills, and they are BUSY. and as for future employers, you know that's entirely impossible, HIPPA laws protect your privacy completely. meanwhile, what is the problem w/other doctors seeing information about you using drugs? are you afraid they'll be less likely to prescribe addictive substances? i've found this rarely happens. if you have a legit need for pain meds, or ADHD meds, sleep meds, whatever it is you're concerned about not getting, i wouldn't worry about it. there is a new line of thinking, that doctors can't let people suffer in pain, even addicts. it's not that "new", but in the current journals again. do you have a family history of seizures? if so, i would see a doctor asap, and be honest, always, with doctors. my personal opinion is that healthy living, some interesting hobbies, etc, will help, and if you're still having problems in a month or two, see a doctor. and don't forget the supplements i listed in my earlier post. i really think they could help your nervous system get back on track. best of luck!
