Television Dexter

I recently found out about Dexter and caught myself up on all the seasons and episodes. Now I can't stand waiting a week for the next episode. I've found that --------------- releases episodes pretty quickly--the day after.

Brian Moser from the first season was such an awesome character. I wish they didn't kill him off. I do enjoy how Dexter has developed over the seasons; although Harry's code still takes a large part of his life, he's learned to think more for himself.

By the way, when Dexter was having one of his first chats with Lila, his sponsor, the quotes about emptiness and addiction hit home. I'm a junkie. I was wondering if anyone else had a connection to that scene?

i think i like the tv show better than the books
the books are great and all, but the alliteration is fucking annoying. it really detracts from the story sometimes

i'm glad dexter has pulled back from the edge of ridiculousness. the trinity plot with the focus on dichotomy and keeping the mask up is infinitely better than any of the far fetched crap with lila or even prado. dexter has come back to the path unlike other showtime series (eg. weeds).

^ Nice post. I wasn't too excited about this season and even stalled on watching it for a bit but now that I've started and caught up I'm happy with where this season is going.

I hope weeds comes back, I really do. I was watching it hoping it would just end and end well. I have to say though that the last episode gave me a little hope for next season.

the 2nd and 3rd books have much better stories than they used for season 2 and 3. i think it would've been better if they had stuck with using teh book series for guidance, instead of only using the first book. i'm not sure how book 4 compares to season 4 though because i havent yet read it

agreed! and tathra, i haven't read it either but i looked up the synopsis, and although there are some loose, loose connections, i think that the show has strayed too far from the book series.

Season 1+2 were great, 3 was terrible, 4 is a bit better.

After the first couple of seasons they stopped doing the flashbacks to young dexter with his dad and they started including way too many of these "jedi spirit" scenes were Dexter has conversations with his dead father. The lighting is really cliched and overdone for those segments. They really bother me.

Quinn is a terrible replacement for Doakes.

It's always nice to see Lithgow, but personally I hope they end Dexter soon before it gets really bad.

I have to admit, they are seriously overusing the "Harry as Jiminy Cricket" shtick (thankfully, the most recent episode didn't use it once), though I do like Quinn as Doakes-Lite. And the reporter he's banging is a bombshell, too. ;)

Ohhh, the slutty reporter's gonna get killed!!!!!!

I am in love with Michael C. Hall....

too bad he's MARRIED to Jennifer Carpenter (Deb) in real life!! just found that one out yesterday.. crazy crazy

yeah, one great episode. i don't want to say much more about it. it almost got ruined for me.
september is too far away. so many possibilities

We downloaded it, but I got bored with it sometime after the 1st season. It just gets rather predictable. Who knew serial killers could be boring...

Though the ending was indeed shocking, it felt decidedly thrown together, rushed. I really couldn't take it seriously, aside from the raw premise. A good episode, but not a great one.

Agreed. The wrap-up of the Trinity storyline was really unsatisfying. After a whole season of cat and mouse games between the two of them, I was expecting a better finale.

Also I don't see how they're going to write their way out of Dexter being heavily implicated with the Trinity murders. The storylines are getting a bit sloppy. Trinity's family knows what he looks like and what happens right at the end of this season is too much of a co-incidence to be ignored.

Having said that, though, I'm sorta glad it ended the way it did.
NSFW:
The whole Dexter being married and having kids thing really wasn't working for me. Now Quinn needs to die.

The season finale was awesome and makes me wonder what they are going to do next season.

Some people on here are wayyyyyy too negative. What would you do with the show that would be any better?
