ugh, there is reason these magazines are part of my life. just spent fuck knows how long trying to find digital copies of the Love Want editorial. nothing in a massive web of blogs compares to the actual print. this is neither one of the better photos from the editorial or retouched in the same way...

arvida byström also figures herself an artist. petra collins has approved, so she's doing ok. seems like she has kept her career--funny word for something started at fourteen--afloat from close to the beginning by also creating her own work. she's into digital, 90s imagery. kinda what the "seapunk" article reminded me of on wikipedia. but i've been seeing this for a bit. like the aesthetics of windows 95 or when super nintendo froze mid-play. i'm not very interested. but she's into photography and doesn't ruin all her photographs.

oh, and that other anja konstantinova photo is also bec parsons. for issue #5, which now i really want. finding back issues is a laughable idea, as even getting the upcoming issue may be a challenge. don't think it has a real distribution deal. if it does, it's a small and a new contract. in searching for images, i found old messages to the editor/publisher from individuals trying to get the [then] current issue and being told to send an email to work out details. now you can pre-order online--$40 shipping. i found #6 it at my new magazine store of everything for like 10 bucks, but it often seems random what they get. and they never know what's coming.

by todd cole for Dossier. everything she's wearing is rodarte. before i realized i needed a dehumidifier for my house, a pretty significant portion of my magazine and photo book collection -- not a single Lula or Self Service! -- was damaged. this one was of the magazines i was saddest about incurring damage. lots of good editorials were ruined. but elle's is untouched! because Dossier prints on all kinds of paper stock in the same issue, and some were more were more susceptible to the humidity than others. also the bottom of the magazine took the most damage; this editorial is in the front.
