Dependent on opiates.. Does it make u frustrated?

I get more frustrated how our bodies and minds deal with opiate withdrawl...It would be one thing if each day without using got better and better, but its the opposite that actually happens up to a certain point...this is absolutely ridiculous IMO...plus, it would another thing if a person could lay down and sleep at night, but thanks to how our brains receptors are geared, they literally make your life as much of a living hell as possible...I mean, cmon, its just a person stopping using a given substance, it should not be as horrible as it is.

All Im saying is, if god really does exist and created us, he did a piss poor job in this regard..IMO, if a person chooses to stop using their DOC, w/ds should not even happen, if the brain isnt getting dope ingested in some way, it should recognize this and produce its own 'feel good' natural chemicals on its own.

^^I hear you man, what a heartache this is.

After years of staying constantly in the city,my (non drug user) gf and i decided to go to a 7-8 day vacation on the countryside last summer,i had to pack dozens of grams and a box of pills to take with me to stay ok.After 6 days,i run out of dope and we had to leave early. It was so beautiful and peaceful there and we had such a blast but dopefiend idiot cant even stay a week without being close to his connection(s).

That´s pretty bad. It seems like it´s getting near to impossible to "purchase your needs" in other cities. This was different 10-15 years ago.
You could just ask someone that was under the influence and resolve the issue then.
Now you need a connection or you become sick.

I didn't really mind being physically dependent on opium poppies because there was a steady, cheap supply. It was only when I ran out that it became not worth it. If I knew I'd have a lifetime supply, I'd gladly take opiates every day until I died.

Me too!

No, not at all. The money part gets to me(or got on maintaince now, but guese it still gets to me once & again...vacation from subs buying benzo's weed) Anyway, the way I look at it is I was HORRIBLY deppressed before I started opiates, took them was happy and could function and not have everyone be like "what's wrong?" all the damn time. I am content to stay on Suboxone the rest of my life, it makes me normal, same goes for any other opiate, it doesnt matter. That's just me though, they make me happy, I enjoy them when I do them, and now that I'm on maintaince, I don't really feel high but just that 'normal' feeling, although it does give me energy and make me chatty the 1st few hours, but not high and nodding. So yes, would be happy to stay on street opiates(if it wasn't for the price/getting arrested risk) or being on Subs or Methadone till I die..that's how I feel right now anyway.

I'd have no issue being dependent on opiates if I had the money to assure that I'd never be sick, but I don't so it sucks.

That's my thoughts on it too. I don't have a drug problem, I have a money problem.

Lol,everything that guy ever said was pure gold!!

Thing is(with opiates at least ) that even if you have money, you still have to abstain every now and then or the drug simply stops working. The miracle of opiates happens when you are in mild WDs,havent used for 12+ hours and you do some good dope, takes away the sickness and gets you buzzing.Thats when your body/mind appreciates the drug.
If youre constantly using 24/7(which is usually the case when u have enough money) the drug isnt doing much anymore and after awhile no amount will get you where you want to be..

That's one of my favorite quotes. It's so damn true. The issues that my opiate addiction have caused are almost solely financial. If I had enough money, there would be minimal problems, if any at all.

As for opiates and tolerance, there's no ceiling dose on opiate agonists so if money is no issue, having to take huge doses won't be a problem other than possible side effects that may cause.

I'll have nightmares where I'll get arrested and put in a 4 ft. wide 7 ft. high 10 ft. depth cell with a cell-mate. And I become friends over time with my bunkie and he helps me out by getting my subs smuggled in. Realistic eh? Hah.
