thats another thing. people that think theyre somehow better because theyve been around longer. as far as i can tell you cant even accurately describe techno or other genres. youre just a jaded elitist and youre exactly whats wrong with the scene.

Agreed

Currently I am more into creative, beautiful dnb, like liquid. Its so much easier to dance to than all that rubbish they spin at "raves". All you can do with that clown/jump up is jump around. You cant get artistic and creative and come up with stylish beautiful moves. I used to be into all that clown/jump up rubbish, then I grew up and realized it all sounds the same, sounds flat and noisy.

that's a load of generalisations which are, as ever, next to useless.

I don't understand what you mean. Can you clear it up for me?
What I get from it is you don't know what you are talking about. In that there are different flavors of d&b. In my opinion most d&b being played at larger, commercialized events or "raves" is useless. Are you a Junglist? A seriously straight up nothing else matters but d&b Junglist? An everyday Junglist. If so and you have been into it for a while then you should know what I am talking about. So can you please explain more...because you lost me;)

The only thing I am going to do about it is what I have been doing. Going to events where there flavors that I am into, nuff said.

when i posted this i was expectin the kinds of response that i just receieved, ie im a elitist..surprised it came 3 days later....

your entitled 2 your opinion, but if u r sayin that spinnin house music for 13 yrs and seein scenes go from this and that arent a reason 2 feel i am a viable source for this info, then thats all u

all i know is techno is horrible...i listened to that when i was 11 yrs old and was ignorant to sounds and so on...grew out of it in 4 months and found house, a much more pleasant, rhtyhmatic genre of music

there is a reason raves r on the decline and non-existent..in fact i used to get my records from a place called planet x, it was like lookin for a needle in a haystack bc all they had was techno, and a lil house...guess what they went out of business years ago
u can say people ruin the scene by makin comments and so on, but i am not part of a scene, i just love house music and know how bad techno is

what you consider to be just "techno" is more likely a large number of sub genres. "techno" as you call it is really a number of genres all with unique attributes of their own. the EDM world is comprised of alot more then just house and techno. maybe if you pulled your head out of your ass long enough to realize that your attitude might be a bit different.

the straight people r in a dark age. i do believe the gay scene has all the talented djs and plays the best music

Flex those pecs boys!!!!!!

Hey househead79 I think planet x is still around. If their site is planetxusa.com. Im pretty sure because thats where I get most of my d&b from ;)

Techno as in 'techno' (anything from The Youngsters to your DDR, Guy McAffer right through to Suburbass etc) is probably my favourite musical genre - it's just hypnotic, repetitive beats and when you're in the groove absolutely nothing else really matters. It's grand stuff.

Techno as in happy hardcore (QFX,Hixxy,..) is alright - I won't slate it because it can be good fun, but generally I'd rather be getting my groove on to some good, hard techno. That said there's not much that can beat a Scott Brown hardcore set :D
