Once again, I'm talking the very general public. I'm not hanging around with anyone. I've been running my mates newsagents for a few days. Teenagers, morons and deviants don't even buy newspapers do they? Or should I say, do you?

Not everyone who goes into a newsagent is buying a paper. Also The Sun, Mirror and Star, do not actually count as 'newspapers'. Anyone with an 8 year olds reading age could read one of those. Also would depend on where the newsagent was positioned as to what kind of demograph you get in there

so your dolescum and hate the police, makes sense I guess

No I'm not dolescum, I said several of the people who support the police also make posts about hating dolescum. Y'follow?

Don't tell me - you don't like people on benefits either.

I don't have an opinion either way on people on the 'dole', whatever that my entail. I actually used to work for The Department of Work and Pensions, within the Jobcentre. I have also claimed job seekers allowance at some point too.

The only problem I have is with the fraudulent side of things.

I just wondered why you thought being dolescum and hating the police "made sense". Did you hate the police when you were dolescum?

I would interpret 'dolescum' as somebody who'd be on it long-term, maybe thats a right interpretation or not.

nope. I support the police, but equally I don't think the sun shines out their arse. The police make wrong decisions and they also have 'bad' people contained within, just like any other section of society or company or whatever.

I'd say that there was probably some kind of correlation between 'police hating' and long term 'doleites', I don't think that's a stretch of the imagination. But I'm not saying everyone on the dole' long term hates police, far from it. Neither am I saying everyone who isn't on the dole loves the police.

Seems your mates shop only gets ignorant people with a very low IQ as customers then if they all wanted to see more dead coppers.

For every dead copper there's a wife, kids, mum, dad, sister, brother etc who has to deal with it too, you're not just killing a copper your destroying dozens of lives. Anyone who in any seriousness wants to see more cops being shot needs a reality check, it's such a childish and ridicolous thing to say.

Every time a cop goes to work there's a good chance he'll destroy countless lives - many for the "crime" of posessing drugs. Do you think they care about the lives they destroy? Do you think if someone they arrest commits suicide they give a shit about the person who died or their families? Really?

How seriously are you taking this spade? When you hear Bill Hicks tell people in advertising and marketing to kill themselves do you think of the children of the advertising men? Or do you think of the humour in it?

lol? If you do the crime you got to accept the risks involved in committing that crime. I doubt they destroy many lives based on drug convictions, unless they were high level dealing. Sure a drug conviction may mean you can't work in certain areas, but you should have been thinking about that before you risked possessing the drug. Penalties aren't usually that high.

I'm not saying I agree with the current drug policy, but if you are going to break this law, then you need to accept you may get caught - try to limit the chances of this if there will be ramifications like loss of job etc.

If you wish to fight the policy on drugs, then taking lots of drug isn't the answer is it.

If the ramifications are so bad that you feel the urge to kill yourself, then you obviously haven't thought through your actions hard enough and thought about the potential consequences. Therefore there is no-one to blame but yourself.

At the end of the day, the police are just trying to do their jobs, some believe in it wholeheartedly, some are doing it just for the money, just like any other job. They are following the rules/laws (to a certain extent), trying to convict law breakers - that's their job.

I disagree. I think they destroy thousands.

If the ramifications are so bad that you feel the urge to kill yourself, then you obviously haven't thought through your actions hard enough and thought about the potential consequences.

You can still have thought about the potential consequences and still be destroyed by a police prosecution. I don't think there's any question about that and I wouldn't blame the person for being destroyed by the police. Even John Lennon - a multi-millionaire genius musician - was pretty much destroyed by being busted for pot in 1968. For years it ruined his chances of moving to America and took up so much of his time that his career and life suffered terribly.

At the end of the day, the police are just trying to do their jobs

So fucking what? We're all "just trying to do our jobs" arn't we. A loanshark threatening a single mother for her benefit cheque is "Just trying to do his job". "Just doing your job" doesn't mean you arn't a complete bastard as well does it?

'Bill McKay, a tool from Doncaster, said'... lol

"The real autopsy results of both men will show that they were killed with a single shot from a high-powered, German manufactured Mauser, the weapon of choice among former members of the French Foreign Legion. This has got Jonathan Aitken written all over it."

heh heh.....

You're over reacting Issy, I doubt most cops on a normal day do anything that has the potential to ruin a life. Anyway it's the person who committed the crimes fault for breaking the law, not the copper who arrested them.

Don't do the crime if you can't do the time and all that.

If the laws of this country are so hard for you to follow why don't you move somewhere you won't get into trouble. You wouldn't even have to go far, Portugal seems to have decriminalised everything so you've no fear of being busted for having a few plants growing at home or some pills in your pocket.

i think the fact remains we need polis, and even if a lot of UK cops are cunts who sometimes excessively enforce dumb drug laws they are still some of the best in the world.. people are cunts, not police, and UK polis are less violent and corrupt than many in the rest of the world, even in Europe

doesn't mean they shouldn't be accounted for, as Doug Stanhope says 'how does their suck make my suck not suck?' but even so I am happy to be in a country where the fuzz don't shoot people much and can't be easily bribed

Are you capable of some kind of reasonable discussion that doesn't involve you calling an orange an apple?

I didn't say it can't destroy lives if you thought about the consequences. Obviously if you have thought about them you decided the risk was worth it. But when and if you do get caught and the punishment 'destroys you'. You can't blame anyone else but yourself. Who cares about John Lennon? What has that got to do with the argument? Thanks for pointing out who he is, I had no idea who John Lennon was... thanks

Who said anything about the police being cunts? You break a law, it's their job to try and prosecute you for breaking that law. What's so cuntish about that? I don't get this 'argument' at all?

Also, there may be cunts in the police force, I've already stated this. They all aren't cunts obviously. Just the same as any section of society/industry/whatever. There are good and bad people.

The example you've given is not really relevant as a loanshark is not a legitimate job. Therefore they do have to lean toward illegitimate ways of getting their money back. Also, some blame must be put on the lender. If they knew they might have problems paying the money back then they shouldn't have done it in the first place, especially from someone so unscrupulous as a loan shark.

It's not their decision to enforce it or not. In some laws they have discretion, in others they do not. If they see you are possessing drugs it's not like the can just turn a blind eye. The police don't make the laws, they are there to try and enforce them, make sure people act within the law and try to punish them to the full extent of the law if people are acting 'illegally'.

Policy wise, drugs use/distribution is near the top of the list. I don't agree with that, but I don't blame the police for trying to enforce the drug laws.

Pressure needs to be put on government to change drug policy, it's highly unlikely that within the next 10-30 years we will see a change with the current policy. But there isn't much we can do appart from sound our opinions, get research done etc. Calling cops cunts for prosecuting drug possessors isn't helping at all.

I disagree spade, I think most cops destroy lives on a daily basis. That's pretty much the job. I'm not sure I go along with the "I was only following orders". I think you have to take responsibility for your own actions on an individual basis. If a cop wrecks someones life for smoking pot, they should't try and blame "the system" - the cop needs to blame himself.

As Cool Hand Luke says "Calling it your job don't make it right".
