"People" are scared their kids will get into drugs so politicians appease them. Neither of those groups know enough or care enough about drugs or the possibility of responsible drug use to act otherwise.

Alcohol/tobacco excepted.

I don't think a Marxist explanation is necessary!

That last line I agree.

Parents can also be drug users - I have 2 adult kids, one who is drug pro and uses, the other anti...Politicians I believe had very little to do with the shaping of their views or lifestyle of choice, more like the culture of their lifestyles and upbringing :\ Neither think the police are cunts and deserve shit.

The Articles of Faith that form this core morality are used as weapons of mass distraction by States and their agents to make the task of governing easier. In Ireland the largest political party in cahoots with personal and political friends in building and Banking has practically beggared the Country, and they will do it again as soon as they can, yet an Alien reading the papers would think the threat to Ireland comes from a handfull of goons in a provincal town and the counterfeit powders they are purveying. Mephedrone was another gift from the gods for the political elite here.

Yo Kate,

I know, I'm plenty old enough to be a parent and I am friends with several drug-using parents. No argument.

However the vast majority of parents I know, whilst they may have dabbled in their youth, do not take drugs, do not know about the modern drug "scene" and do not wish their children to have anything to do with drugs.

Ya thanks stebag! had a look at the website when i found out about the assault it was around 3 months ago it happened but i only found out a few days ago, i dont talk to my parents much so they didnt tell me about it an them being ill informed countryfolk didnt even think of contacting the ombudsman! 8)

He's a 'roid monster (this from someone who knew him and his brother). When did we start agreeing with people who have obviously lost the plot. Had he been mad from overdoing meth etc, then everyone would take that into account. He's been doing steroids for years and they will make you mad as a hatter just as much as any other drug

Incidentally, my cousin lives a couple of streets away from where it all happened. Said she's never seen as many blue lights in one place before...

Suppose it depends on whether you're still in the "scene" or not - personally (apologies for derailing the thread with personal stuff) I don't want my kids to be negatively effected by drugs, so actually would prefer they didn't. Drugs have have had an overall bad effect on me (ok I've said it, but know that's my problem and isn't indicative of other's experience), so of course I don't want my children to experience that - I have been here coming on for three decades, so haven't any excuses for denial :| But information and education help me and hopefully my son who does do them, make informed choices and be safe.

Part of that education is how to handle relationships with the law and those who enforce it :\ not easy...
 
jesus the english garda wouldnt catch a cold in winter all those men after one man but still he is dead in a ditch and that cant make it too easy

Specials and normal coppers ain't allowed out of the police stations near to where it is.
Only one's allowed out are armed police...

It appears the unarmed PC was on his own having been deployed to look out for the gunman. Now it seems all unarmed (the vast majority) of Northumbria officers are grounded, apart from going to “I calls”(I take it they will know which ones are genuine and which is a trap). All a sick joke that we`re the butt of.
Best wishes to the officer and his family. Hope his recovery is quick and he returns to normal. Be safe, all his colleagues.

The Post Office next door just got held up and the car park is swarming with coppers. I hope they catch that junkie scum and give him a swift booting...ah, um, I mean accidentally clip his head against the police car door.
 
ive never had any real issues with the police on a personal level-far from it in fact, a look of bewilderment and some low level stupidity has always gotten me through- though i do find the police force as such to be a bit like the darth vader led people in star wars, and scotland yard is the death star of our age/
that said i also have no regard for somebody like mout.
who could be like jabba the hut. or some other space bad guy.
