If he actually got tasered before he shot himself that could explain why he did it.

It's about the dumbest thing to do, anyone knows that when exposed to an electric charge your muscles will contract, if your finger is on a trigger and the finger muscle contracts...you should hear a bang.
 
Was exactly what I was getting at, Arnold. Instant investigation (police investigating police - wonder how that will turn out 8)) been called on why two separate oinkers tasered him before he shot himself. Just seemed deeply fishy to me. If you're planning on the "blaze of glory" or suicide thang you'd generally just get on with it once you knew you had no way out other than that or arrest, I'd think. Sat quietly negotiating for several hours beforehand just doesn't strike me as the way it would go down. Unless the police negotiator was seriously shit or just really fuckin' annoying.
 
Gazza cast out his fishing rod, it caught on Moats finger and when Gazza tried to real it in it caused Moat to pull the trigger and shoot himself. Silly Gazza.

There are reports that the negotiators are pissed off with the tazering.

And the inevitable injuries from the tasar were apparently mysteriously missing from the coroners report.

No change there then.

I thought the whole point of tasers were that there were no injuries caused by them?
 
I thought it was more that they're generally non-lethal rather than non-injurious but I might be (and usually am) wrong.

Not a fan of how this seems to have been dealt with but am not gonna go all Issy on yer arses ;) Police-led police investigations always rub me the wrong way though, seems so hopeless.
 
They apparently leave marks on the body. As you'd expect 50000 volts might.

The family of Raoul Moat is considering asking for a second independent postmortem examination because the official report contained no mention of injuries from the Tasers that police said they used on him.

Northumbria police said two shots from the stun guns were fired at Moat before he killed himself. The Independent Police Complaints Commission is to look into whether the 50,000-volt electric charges caused the former bouncer to commit suicide.

Relatives, who have seen the results of the initial postmortem, told the BBC and Sky News that it showed he had gunshot wounds consistent with a weapon he was carrying and marks that pointed to "rough living" but made no reference to any injuries inflicted by a stun gun.

the uk police use tasers that can pierce through 2 inches of clothing, so i imagine the darts/electrodes would leave small puncture wounds
 
Tasers definitely cause injuries - have killed people too.

Why'd they taze him anyway? Unless they were getting sick of standing around if the bloke had a gun to his head I can't see him being much of a threat to all them tooled up coppers.

Not a fan of coppers or mentallists tbh but I kinda felt...not bad for him but sort of like sorry that's how shit turned out for him.

The blokes been promising to kill cops and members of the public, if I was a cop on the scene and he had a gun in his hand I might want to tazer the bastard as well.
 
Fair enough, re tazers, but shotguns do pretty nasty damage to a person so pretty easy to obliterate some puncture wounds from a taser.

Still, sounds a pretty daft thing to do when he's got his fingers on the trigger. My money is still on Gazza..we know he's fucking daft.

The bloke was a nutter, he had a gun. If I was a cop on scene my line of thinking probably wouldn't be "he's crying now, I'm not gonna worry anymore about that shotgun in his hand or the fact he's shot a few folk already". I'd want to do whatever I could to get that gun out of his hand so I could go home alive.
 
You try sitting/squatting for 6 hours in the pissing rain on a Friday night & listening to someone with a gun havering on about not getting enough hugs from his old man. You would start looking at the taser in your hand a little differently :\
