I think (hope) that most people here agree that health/addiction wise, coke and heroin is MUCH worse than cannabis. So how come the risks of other drugs are rarely even brought up on this board? :/
Because this particular board is about cannabis and not other drugs. If you check out The Dark Side, you'll see plenty of demonization of other drugs, and very little of cannabis.

I honestly don't know. During college I was smoking constantly - it was my heaviest period of use for all 4 years. I mean, I would smoke when I woke up, after my shower, before each class, after each class, between classes, on the way to class, and then all evening/night. Yet I graduated with high honors with a double major, and it really was quite easy for me. Somehow marijuana just never impacted my intelligence. Motivation, yes, but evidently not enough to prevent me from doing well in school. I just never allowed anything to get in the way of doing well at school. My girlfriend was the same way, except that she was terrible at school until she started smoking when we were freshmen. After the first semester, she was on academic probation with a 1.2 GPA. After first semester, she never got below a B, and got mostly As. She said that it helped her to realize that she had been mentally lazy and irresponsible her whole life, and she could no longer live like that.
However, a lot of people I know were definitely hurt my their marijuana consumption and ended up failing out or at least not doing well.
