Compare weed dependance to opiate/amphetamine addiction.
They are not even comparable.
"cannabis dependance" is completely different. If you had to use weed as a blanket for your worries and can't live life without it then maybe your perception on life was negative as it is. Maybe you weren't depressed when you started using weed, then later years in life you came across things that made you depressed, you find that without weed you're more depressed.
So what we have here is someone using something to cope with depression, weed ain't a good way to get out of depression. Stop smoking, do other activites, in a couple of months try smoking again. You'll find that you might suddenly have clarity in thought for once while high, in a while, and you'll understand what I mean by mental addiction. Weed is a mild drug, the depencance is so mild that it's mental.
There's just no other way to use weed other than in a good mindset, have a good time before you toke or while you are. Before you get high, don't smoke weed like it's crack.
Weed will definetly alter the way you perceive yourself, don't perceive yourself as addicted to it and no other goal in life. Use your brain, think about why you're depressed in the first place.
You aren't going to get insane withdrawal symptons like opiates, weed is simply not addicting, it's all your own mental status, your perception of the drug and your world without it.
Your perception is that you have a habit, ok then you do, you aren't doing much but being the stereotypical lazy stoner when you can't even think for yourself.
All the people who claim they're dependant, from what I've seen are generally lazy/unmotivated/depressed as it is at the point where they claimed "addicted".
