Darvocets: do they really suck that bad?

Darvs remind me a lot of Talwin. I never liked that ride but a lot of occasional ope users do. It's a different trip, it's not a replacement for traditional strong opes.

I just bought a good bit from my friend from really cheap, and I did some searching and everyone here says they're worthless. However, the other day I took three of them plus a 50mg Demeral, and I felt damn good. I remember a long time ago I took 4 at school and I got really fucked up. So is everybody over exaggerating or does my body actually like Darvocets?

they definitely do NOT suck. that is, if you have a very low tolerance. the buzz isn't as nice as hydrocodone, and they tend to make me a little sleepy, but with zero tolerance, darvocets will get me off nicely.

if you have a high tolerance, don't expect to get off on them. back when i was on poppy seed tea and my tolerance was through the roof, i couldn't even get off on eight 7.5 mg hydrocodones. i actually got sick from the apap, and i never caught any kind of buzz at all.

so yeah. if you are an inexperienced opiate user or just have no tolerance at all, darvons will give you a nice buzz.

he said "ill write you another script for the darvocet and ib profen 800" i kinda chuckled and just said it would be alright i got some oxycontin at the house....he just looked at me kinda puzzled and said "ok, i would advise you to just take my prescription" i took it and he had this real eat shit and die look on his face.

lol. for some reason, i'm very glad you said that to the doc. he won't give you good drugs for legitimate pain? fuck him then. hell, he could have at least written a hydrocodone prescription. i have a friend got about 100 hydrocodones for a very similar injury. hell, that's what hydrocodones are for. darvons are for fuckin toothaches.

i remember i got some after a "minor surgery" & they gave me those... i was stupid and took like 5 at once, they fucked me up alright but not in a good way. my vision was distorted, couldn't walk straight, not much fun.

Yes, from what I remember, Darvocet is not pleasant in a larger dose(not that it was great to begin with). My only experience with it was from before my real opiate days.

Trust me, from someone on 3 years of chronic pain meds I have read all inserts and my uncle's med books. Tramadol aka Ultracet mimics narcotics but is not one. I may be new to your board but I have been on shitloads of drugs and have investigated every one. Look it up carefully. It can work on some people but is not what you think. Ask your pharmacist if need be. And why do no posts ever mention my 60mg red oxycontins? Name brand and never mentioned.

I really don't give a shit how long you've been on chronic pain meds, taking pain meds doesn't magically give you knowledge of their chemistry. Tramadol is an opioid, among other things, it is an μ-opioid receptor antagonist.

I suggest you look it up carefully, and not in your uncle's busted ass med books. Ask your pharmacist if need be, who probably doesn't know shit about Tramadol, and they can refer you to a proper resource.

And why nobody posts about 60mg red oxycontins because they just came out. They are just like other Purdue OCs though as far as I know...

Tramadol works on the noradrenergic and serotonergic systems, as well as a MILD mu agonist.This being said, Tramadol becomes a mu agonist by first being metabolized by the cytochrome P450 isozyme CYP2D6. Through this, the opiate analgesic O-Desmethyltramadol is formed. The O-Desmethyltramadol metabolite is the mu agonist. This mode of action is identical to codeines conversion to morphine.

ALSO, in the US, yes, I agree some people use the term "narcotic" incorrectly. A narcotic is a substance with opiod properties. Tramadol is a synthetic narcotic.

Most dextropropoxyphene i've ingested at one time was 600mg and all i felt was nausea.

Darvoz suck ass.. Theres even research out their saying that propoxyphene or w/e it is has no pain killing properties to it anyways... Darvos never got me high

A few can be nice when you are opiate-naive. The problem is that the high-to-overdose ratio is poor. I have seen a friend go into kidney failure and seizures after taking 6.

It was a cwe and there wasn't even a high. I've tried doses of 200, 300, and 400mg with no success.

Darvocet has 0 recreational value as far as I'm concerned. It also sucks ass for pain. At least tramadol can be used for recreation and/or pain if your tolerance is low enough.

The only thing I can think of using darvocet for is helping opiate withdrawals but I suspect it would be crap at that too, not much better than loperamide or something.

Darvocet is one of the worst drugs I have ever taken. However, talk to a seasoned heroin addict who is one methadone, and they (me included) we will tell you that yes. darvocet is weak, but it is related chemically very closely to methadone. When my husband was on one of the first methadone clinics in the country (1960"s) well, methadone paitents were test rabits at the time, when their doses werent high enough, the only thing that helped was darvon/darvocet. Trust me, if you are kicking a bad habit, darvocet will work 10 times better than vicodin. or even morphine.
I am glad to be back. My computer took a dump on me, and I lost EVERYTHING favorites, all websites, I had ten years of my life take a dump on me. It all started with a warning about a trojan being removed, then the screen went blank. It took me a long time to get back to this website, and no I didnt back up Plesse, dont do what I did, thinking it only happens to other people, I could kick myself in the ass for not backing up, but what is done is over.....
