Parents were yesterday urged to warn their children of the dangers of experimenting with drugs after a 16-year-old girl died of a suspected Ecstasy overdose. Serena Harding, who wanted to become a fashion designer, collapsed after apparently taking the rave drug in a country park. Her companions are believed to have abandoned her as she began having trouble breathing. Serena was found by passers-by who dialled 999. Last night her grieving parents Diana, 47, a holistic therapist, and father Kenneth, 54, said they had never dreamt she would take illegal drugs and said her death left ‘a huge hole in our lives that can never be filled’.

Toxicology results are awaited before the drug which Serena had taken can be confirmed.

Asked why her friends hadn’t dialled 999, Chief Inspector Hussey would only say: ‘If people have been involved in taking drugs, you can’t really judge their actions.’

Another young life wasted. Young people nowadays are supposed to be so intelligent, so why don't they listen? How many warnings do they need? Drugs are DANGEROUS that's why they are ILLEGAL.

Another unnecessary death from drugs. They will not learn will they! Red Flag me if you want, but the youth have got to learn that ALL drugs are bad, and if you take them, there is a high risk you will pay the ultimate price.

The teenager – along with Mr Dodgeon's 14-year-old daughter Beatrice Hadjipateras – are understood to have taken a cocktail of drugs after finding ecstasy, LSD and ketamine in a bedroom.
Her companions are believed to have abandoned her as she began having trouble breathing.
"If people have been involved in taking drugs, you can’t really judge their actions."

Sounds more like ketamine or the combined effect of the cocktail. I can't imagine people being too out of it to notice someone having problems just on E, or even acid for that matter.

Lots of Inexperienced people dont understand the dangers of using Ketamine with alcohol ,
thats definately Apparant.

i hope this reader is pushing for the ban of alcohol, tobacco and anything that stimulates our senses

anyway if lived in england i'd be throwing molotov's at the daily mail building every night

strange... I wonder why they included the price of the family home in the article :S.

Not the most informative paper, but unfortunately one of the most influential in the UK. According to Richard Branson...

Branson isn't expecting to convert David Cameron or any other politician overnight: "I talk to a lot of politicians and, individually, almost every single one of them knows that this is the right approach. They all are just terrified of the Daily Mail. If the Daily Mail changes its approach, the politicians will change their approach. If the Daily Mail don't, they won't." The situation is "sad" he says.

I've had a look round for anything on the most recent UK "Ecstasy " deaths. ie. Results from tox screens or even the coroners reports. can't find nothing.

why is this ?

can someone explain why the combo is dangerous? At one time I tried a few lines of K after a night of drinking. Most horrible spins and nausea ever. I felt like shit, but I never felt like I was about to die.

K does not reduce heart rate, nor respiration if I am right? Does the danger come from choking on vomit?

Well it makes K's physical effects a lot stronger, and most of the time people puke too, people i know that do k and drink (i dont drink) are always sick on K. Ive never been sick on anything yet so i count myself lucky hehe (even alcohol)

a couple of drinks and you should be alright but, it does increase risks, there are then risks that arent there with K use alone. So my point is that taking the 2 together is just adding risks that could be avoided.

I'm sorry but theres NO excuse for leaving your fucking friend to just die, pretty sure your parents finding out and a warning from the police is small in comparison to LEAVING YOUR FRIEND TO DIE.

Especially in the UK, nobody ever gets sent to prison for anything here. Makes you appreciate the friends you have :|
