Dail Mail - Chemical imbalance: Lethal Ivory Wave is banned, but 'legal highs'...

"but 'legal highs' still on sale may be worse"

Whack-a-mole. The war on drugs is useless. Time to scrap this old and rusty whack-a-mole game.

Not MXE! :( Time to stock up, if only I could afford to...

I feel for you Brits. Any time some airhead reporter mentions a legal drug I use here in the U.S. I break out in a cold sweat. Indeed it is probably the beginning of the end for you guys for MxE. It's such a nice drug too.

I would order it online from other countries but what's the point, I don't want to sound big headed but as soon as things are banned here in the UK, the quality plummits. Mephedrone was at its best when it was legal in the UK, people all around the world discussed the massive drop in quality afterwards. No doubt MXE will follow. CANNOT FUCKING BELIEVE HOW QUICKLY THIS IS GOING!!!

new drugs become popular and available to the public, then get banned

then new drugs are discovered, become popular to the public, then... yeah

this has been happening for the past 60 years

Other 'legal highs' freely on sale, such as the anaesthetic methoxyketamine, known as MXE, can cause paralysis and terrifying hallucinations. Users on online 'trip report' sites describe being paralysed for hours, unable to speak or walk, and even being close to death. One unnamed user wrote: 'For those hours I have no memory of what went on physically as the doctors tried to keep my body alive. 'I was told later that they thought I had had a stroke and was brain damaged, in a coma (until the tests showed no organic damage and I started to come to.) 'Everyone thought I had intentionally overdosed to try suicide.'

What a terribly written article 8)

i think whats telling about this story in the daily mail: the guy woke up. no damage was done. as long as no pretty girl o'ds on it were fine, as is the media tradition. when the next Leah Bettes (remember her) happens, or the pretty bright girl in brighten who sadly died on gbl (i wont defend GBL. i support its ban as it is dangerous)...or the alleged swedish woman who died from mephadrone (turned out she was actually on a whole bunch of shit, same as Leah bettes whos autopsy reveled something [from memory] had actually drunk herself to death but just happend to have also taken MDMA as well..hence the media "ecstacy kills" [thanks daily mail].......

....this is how it goes. but a pretty face to a drug death, regardless as to whether the drug killed her..and we will get a ban.

i see people shoveling all sorts of unknown branded powders up thier noses and in any available orifice from the local head shops, this is what needs to be stopped, harm reduction. the law should be applied to protect from dangers, sadly it never is. it always comes down to a knee-jerk reaction from middle england driven moron newspaper crusades. and nothing to do with health and wellbeing. ban the daily mail. its destroyed lives. it continues to destroy lives. just one newspaper is all it takes. ;)

time after time a drug appears throughout history. it gets banned. it then becomes the biggest thing ever. cocaine was a dr's drug. it was banned. it became the biggest industry in the world. ravers on pills were demonised, creating the birth or clubland and rave culture still going strong 30 years later. read "the pursuit of oblivian" by Richard Devonport-heins (spell check)...time after time a drug is used by a minority of people, it gets banned. it becomes big. its replaced by another. it's a continuing cycle criminalizing a basic human drive.

thats not to say there are some dangerous chemicals out there. that we need to be protected from. but we are all intelligent enough to know that health promotion is better done by the state, by health promotion and education, then the words of a back-street drug dealer, drive a drug under ground and you lose control of it. from its supply, its demand etc. if i had teenage children growing up now, i would rather they were told how to take drugs responsibly in a controlled environment, taught whats what, told how to avoid dangers, educated and informed, if thats what they choose. then some gangster in a night club trying to make some money selling poison. ..isn't it true M-cat is now since the daily mail crusade and ban gone from a drug no one had heard of apart from a few psychonaughts, to one of the most popular drugs amounts 18-24-year olds alongside cocaine and cannabis. before the ban and before the media. no on took it. now its cut to shit ~(apparently) and in the hands of organized crime (didnt polish gangs jump on its supply straight away?). pre ban. we paid VAT on internet purchases which helps in turn to pay our NHS. which mops up the damage. which mostly is caused by alcohohol, tobacco and people who insist on eating shit. . rant over.

If it wasn't for the UK, no-one (and I mean no-one) would have heard of mxe, so I can't see how we 'fucked it up'...

I'd have to second this statement. Only one person really has ownership rights to MXE and that's the chemist who brought it to the masses. If anything, you could potentially argue that we all owe him. UK and USA included.

^Let's hope he doesn't read this thread and invoice us all 8(
man the UK has to fuck it all up for the USA... every damn time..
Excuse me? Do the names "Harry J. Anslinger" or "Timothy Leary" or "Richard Nixon" or "Ronald Reagan" mean anything to you?

And because you're all so fucking responsible over there? There seems to be another death every day from the synthetic cannaboids, cathinones, 2C-X etc in America. Added to the fact that your gas stations sell MDPV, Mephedrone and Methylone to children, you fuck it up for youselves mate
