How did I miss this one?

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

Discuss.

This album is amazing, it makes me sad that I missed their last American tour though.

My favorite part is during Around the World, when the bass kicks in and you can hear the crowd absolutely lose it.

Daft Punk are amazing musicians, undoubtedly.

It's a decent mashup of a whole bunch of their most well known tracks.

They play it every time they perform. Which is a bit of a wank, but it makes for a great experience. Saw them live when they were here in Sydney a couple of years ago.

It's definitely not representative of all that is great about EDM. I could probably have more fun dancing to the wee hours in a smallish club with a relatively unknown dj actually mixing tunes and creating an improvised and unique experience.

But yea, it's good in terms of a wave your hands in the air and take photos "stadium dance" thingy.

Based on all previous works from daft punk I didnt rate them and hence didnt see them when they last toured here.

I heard Alive after the tour and was told the show was very similar. Spewing I missed it. Big fan of Alive. Its like they discovered how to add basslines.

You make a good point, but they're two different types of experiences (dancing in a club and "stadium dancing") but I know what you mean.
I saw Daft Punk here in NY at Cony Island in a baseball stadium. The general admission area where we were was absolutely packed making it impossible to get your groove on unless you moved to the back closer to the stands. It was one of those experiences where I was torn between wanting to get down and wanting to capture everything in pictures and videos. I opted for taking as many videos and pictures as I could while waving my hands in the air jumping and screaming. Had the show been longer I would have left my position and moved to the back to dance. And WOW it was amazing. One of the top two live PA's I've had the pleasure of witnessing, Chemical Brothers being the other one. And yes the Alive 2007 cd is pretty spot on to how the show sounded.

It was epic, if they come to a city near you definitely go see them!

Yea defintely. I understand the dilemma completely. I often find it hard to dance properly at festivals.

Clubs ftw in general. But festivals do have a little something extra special about them.

i had the live set from april 2006, the coachella one

they did the same set every gig (well obviously because it was a CD that they played, while they just stood there in suits)

i then saw them in ireland in september of the same year, and although it took away from the surprises of what was coming next, i still really enjoyed it (apart from the squashing in the crowd and my friend getting paranoid on acid and getting in a punching match with some guy who was pushing him by accident, doh..)

saw them again in 2007 and it was cool too

went to the last ever pyramid show in sydney, was fucking epic! wonder what their next live show will be, a giant sphere? apparantly world tour in 2010/11

It was the same show. Because all the production was live on hardware synths it's just so damn complex and practically impossible to vary.

Brilliant show though, one of the best live performances I have been too.
