Dad is blind... DMT?

"Dope" in the past tended to just be used to describe weed, he was probably pulling your leg about the reefer madness that has circulated for decades with all sorts of these kinds of rumours. It's possible he's referring to something else, but most likely he was just making a joke and didn't realise his sarcasm wasn't evident.

I agree with others that DMT wouldn't be the best first time psychedelic, unless you could somehow guarantee a breakthrough - which given how difficult it is for beginners to smoke, is unlikely. At sub-breakthrough doses for many people it can be very unpleasant and even terrifying. As for if he'd hallucinate - if he wasn't always blind, then closed eye visuals are pretty much guaranteed.

We can't offer "What should I/he take" advice but look to a lighter dose of some of the friendlier tryptamines and phenethylamines rather than jumping him straight in at the deep end if you want to give him a trip. :)
 
I say go for it. my first time physc was DMT and it was very welcoming, comforting and absolutely fucking................... AMAZING.
 
So I hung out with Dad today and smoked some bowls and drank some beers.
Dad is blind because he used to cook speed. He thinks that's why anyways.
As in, he used to make large batches of speed. He knew how to extract it from things and make it from scratch. His doctors also think it was from the chemicals he was consuming.
They are pretty certain about it.

He agreed that he would like to try the DMT. I told him I don't like speed. lol

He has taken 23 hits of acid before one time he said. He has also done mushrooms.

The next time I go to see him I am going to bring him some DMT to try.
I think he really wants to do it.

He said "Hell yeah I want to see some cartoons!"
I assumed by cartoons he means hallucinations.
I explained to him he might go to other dimensions and visit aliens.
He still wants to try it!

I'll see what happens and report back next visit.

PS he was a pretty cool guy. He had two guitars and we were jamming together for a while for the first time. We are both great on guitar! I must have got it from his genes. Odd meeting your dad after 30 years and you get along with him so well.
Maybe I will finally have a buddy who will get hallucinating with me.
We will see, don't want to push it.

None of my friends ever wanna come over and do shrooms and DMT and shit. That's pretty cool he will. I feel bad for him being blind though. He's not exactly helpless but he's not exactly about to go out camping and fishing with me either. His vision is totally black.

He's still a pretty cool guy even though he's blind now.
Feel like I found a side of my I have been missing my whole life.

I even told dad the reason why I went off trying to contact him in the first place was from the MXE got me to thinking about things deep in my subconscious! He believe me and didn't look down on me for it! He feels bad we lost about 30 years together but he's happy we're hanging out now making up for lost time!

Fuckin crazy. Few days ago I didn't have a dad at all now I'm gonna go blast off with him.

I don't mean to hurt or experiment on my dad, I honestly thought maybe the DMT could benefit him in some way.
We will see I guess!

I have .8 grams of mushrooms left I was thinking about eating tonight but maybe I should just give them to him also!
I bet he would benefit from them more than me anyway.

He said the first year of being blind he was pretty pissed off about it. He's been blind three years now.

Hallucinogens are very beneficial for me. I wonder how much they would benefit him.

It was cool to go see where he lives.
He has a good routine down in a good neighborhood. I don't have to worry about him too much right now. Everyone in his building knows he is blind and smokes weed. They all look after him. He has a liquor store at the end of his block. Ha has the steps counted and memorized how to get down there. There were people he knew talking to us on the way down to grab a beer at the store. I'm pretty confident he'll be OK where he is.
He's been getting along without me for 30 years or more..

I told him to call me if he ever has any trouble I'll go kick some ass for him.

You could tell all his other senses are heightened now that he lost his sight.
His hearing and his attention span have picked up quite a bit more than normal.

I think it will be nice for him to see for a short time again. Not with the eyes but the hallucinations can be visual. Maybe it would also be some kind of training for the visualizing area of the brain.
 
I just have to say all your posts and this whole story, is overwhelmingly positive. It sounds like for a blind person, hes dealing very well with it. Your dad sounds very cool, sounds like mine plus the use of psychoactive substances. It just sounds chilled and nice and thats awesome that you are seeing each other after so many years. This post has no point I just though that it sounds like the most positive situation that I have come across in months.

Also could you write a tr or write down him describing the experience afterwards as well? In particular increased auditory halucinations, differing visuals and if it was a good experience for him? Seriously though, maybe its the pills I just swallowed but im getting a lovely picture of some cool old dude being blind but making the best of it and walking down to the store to get some drink and shit. Cant help put a smile on my face right now
 
I fully intend to bring you guys details of what happens to him!
I'm trying to figure out the best way to present DMT to a blind man! lol
He smokes weed through a metal pipe. Should I just tell him to sprinkle it right on top or what?
That will jack his pipe up for later use.
Should I leave him my DMT pipe? Should I chill there with him while he smokes it or let him experience it on his own so he feels more comfortable?

I wanna make sure he don't waste it too I hardly have any left probably two blast offs worth and I have some loaded in my pipe.

This is in all honesty 100% happening to me! Never thought it would.

If he doesn't mind I would totally recommend you give him your DMT pipe and even light it for him and be his trip sitter so you can give us more details on what happens.

Perhaps even try to get a good look at his eyes whilst he's tripping to see if they're in REM mode or anything like that.

This. I would definitely recommend sitting for him on this one. And this is definitely a good cause to "waste" your remaining DMT on, more will always come around but when will an opportunity like this?
 
Yeah perhaps I will light it form him, it might be hard. He had trouble lighting his cigarette the other day. He almost lit one backwards but I caught him and stopped him lol.

I don't mean wasting it on Dad, I just meant I want to make sure he gets a good chance to blast off on the little amount I have left.

I'm not exactly sure when I'm going to see him again. I told him all about it. I'll give him some time to think it over. He sounded ready right there and then. That's exactly why I didn't bring it the first time. lol

I figured I'd make sure I got to explain it to him first and then he could stew on it for a few weeks and see what he thinks before I bring it down there.

I gotta remember to try to tell him to relax and go with it and let it come on and try and ease into it.

Maybe I can use my iphone to record what he says when he comes out of it so I can then type it to you guys exactly as he says it.

It seems this is going in a positive direction, since you're planning to do it keep in mind it might be worth dosing a little lower than you would - better safe than sorry and I suspect his other senses have heightened from being blind so it may be intense in various other ways unfamiliar to us normally, such as the tinnitus.

I'd light it for him too, and let him know if you're throwing it in a pipe it's gonah taste like burnt plastic. Might be worth telling him about the likes of ayahuasca, etc, so that he has something interesting to reflect upon the upcomming weeks before his trip. While I've had a negative view about you giving him DMT, if you're going to do it I'm sure if he expects some of the amazing things an ayahuasca/dmt trip can do he will have a much better time and understanding of it afterwards. Looks like he's already set though after all that cid!

He has seen others on Datura too!

I really think he is ready for this. I can't even believe it myself. Too much coincidence for me.
It's like this was supposed to happen.

I think he was saying he has heard about ayahuasca and things like this too.

I think he said mescaline, but he didn't know what DMT was.
He was talking about peyote buttons or something.

I would sit with him or sit in the opposite room or something, stay very close by and keep him safe throught the exp. Cant wait to hear about this as well =D and lol, I was fucked this morning

Treasure your time spent with your old man. Mine passed away last week, I spent so much time with him the last few months, smoking weed, having a beer.

But now I look back and regret that we hadn't been doing it for years earlier, i was amazed at how much i had in common with him. Well that's what spun me out before he passed.
