I got my $1000 yesterday. Fucking stoked, have never got anything from the government before :D


They don't seem to be investigating the claims at all. What's more, my bro and his fiance have managed to score the $1000 each after going without power for just 43 hours. Mind you they were honest about it, they contacted Centrelink and explained their situation and Centrelink gave them the money anyway.

I saw a team of mowers, guys with saws/brushcutters working on the side of the road of the M1 last night at about 9pm coming out of Brisbane. They had big spot lights lighting it all up for them and police (at least 5 cars that I saw) were helping out with traffic too. Good work. Plus its good to see so many people volunteering too, I personally know of half a dozen blokes at least.

There is still heaps of roadworks too. One thing about QLD is they know how to make roads and don't stuff around. New infrastructure all the time
