critique the song above

10/10 cus I finally found the band that inspired Les Claypool's Electric Apricot movie (spoof documentary about jam bands, funny as crap)!

Speaking of Les Claypool, how's about a little PRIMUS?

Jerry was a Racecar Driver - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eUxAol0wbak
with a Bocephus sticker on his 442 he'd light em up just for fun

I never got it though. Is Claypool from a redneck family? I know they were auto mechanics, but I always though he was Jewish. Does he just enjoy singing with a country twang or what? Anyone know?

or just rate the song hah

lol...I remember this song playing tony hawk's pro skater on playstation. 8/10 for nostalgia.

The Dead Milkmen - Taking Retards to the Zoo

I was a sophomore in high school when Blind Melon's big album came out. I saw that damn album in every fucker's CD collection for the next 7 years or so. I could always tell it for the red stripe on the side of the CD.
For as many people who told me "Blind Melon is really good. Most of their stuff isn't anything like what they play on the radio", this song isn't doing it for me.
Its dangerously close to a power ballad. The kind of acoustic ditties that hair metal bands would do to show that they have a sensitive side (ex: Whole Hearted by Extreme, To Be With You by Mr. Big). OK, it doesn't get all metal for the chorus but still...
6/10

The Uglysuit - Chicago
(I won't say which but one of these guys was my old drug dealing partner. I thought I'd give his band a BL plug)

6/10

It was a decent pop song, i suppose, but i found it pretty repetitive. I dont listen to modern pop so perhaps im being closed minded with this one, but i found it to be average and "sooo 90's" sounding.

Now for something entirely different

NWA - Express Yourself

cutting the thread...
i just wanted to say this cuz its been on my mind for month
im happy that this thread is working but i dont really participate in it cuz its kinda empty to me, i was more into putting well known song and then have a go, "critique" it says, that was suppose to be the meat, not a x on 10, not my style...
not that i did any great critic either... but i was hoping for some more meat...

so i tought about doing a weekly kind of a thread, where we would all critic a new popular song, and the best critic would win and choose the next song
it would not be about x on 10, but more about how entertaining was the critique
(and is it critique or critic...)

anyway...

Things seem to be going in a downward spiral in this thread. No one wants to type more than a sentence, or they're simply putting up a rating and posting their song. Half the time, they don't even put the name of the damn song on the link.

I've contributed to this thread quite a few times, but I doubt I'll be posting in here again. It just pisses me off to actually go through the trouble to critique and rate the song above me, only to have the person below me say, "Nah." Such mindblowing insight.
