critique the song above

Now, I actually like some rap. The problem with rap though is I find it pretty difficult to write about. But I'll try my best.
This tune is definitely hoppin'. Great beat and the drums sound live although I know probably aren't. I wouldn't have figured these guys for being west coast as the flow is reminicent of late 80's to early 90's New York groups like De La Soul or Del The Funky Homosapien. Although I do catch flashes of Digital Underground. It's definitely indie rap.
The flow is quick and tight. Lyrics good "If you wanna be hardcore, listen to Lil Kim".

I like the music a lot, but the guy's voice got a little tiring to me by the end. Not bad, just didn't really add anything for me. However, I really love the music behind it, and can sort of overlook the voice thing because of that! I have never heard of these guys, and am definitely going to look into them a bit more.

They're best known for the song There She Goes which was covered by Sixpence None The Richer back in 1999. They only did one album before the singer went a little Syd Barret. There have been some attempts at a comeback but then guy flips out and goes back into hiding again.

I'd never heard of Architecture in Helsinki, but I really like the sound. I think imma get me a couple of albums. Any you'd recommend?

Anyways, its time for some metal. Here's Extol - Undecieved. even though they are a christian band, they are still one of my favorite metal bands. enjoy ;)

This album is really meant to be played entire piece, thus the ending seeming to "stop short."

On one other point, I respect your opinion, but on calling the lead singer a "Chuck Billy wannabe," I'd have to disagree. BTTBAM's lead singer (Tommy Rogers) is a screamer, as the band's roots are in hardcore. Chuck Billy is a thrash metal singer who doesn't scream (in the hardcore sense), thus the comparison doesn't make much sense. It's like saying Jamey Jasta (Hatebreed) is a poor man's James Hetfield (Metallica). Their styles are nothing alike.

Otherwise, very in-depth review, nice effort...

I'd start with In Case We Die, its my favorite one by them.

And then the other two they have are Fingers Crossed and Places Like This. I would do those in that order, but as long as you start with In Case We Die its all good.

I love their sound, very unique and fun. I absolutely am a sucker for the electro/rock mix they've got going on.

As for your song, I didn't dig it. In all honesty, I didn't make it very far into it, but I really don't do well with metal, so I'm not the best judge.

I don't find anything particular memorable about this track. While it didn't pain me to listen to, it didn't prompt me to take a second listen either. Seems like pretty standard indie/post-whatever stuff, not terrible, not great.

I find it particular interesting how, in my opinion, Papoose's verses on this track are styled in a way that is very similar to Eminem's...I have noticed this similarity before, but on this track, listen to Pap's verses (especially his second one, around 2:50) and think about Em's "The Way I Am" off the Marshall Mathers LP. Maybe I'm nuts, but the flow is very similar in my opinion. Regardless of any of that, Pap is the most popular real (ie not 50 Cent) rapper on the streets of NY, and he hasn't even dropped an official album.
 
^^i've never heard of papoose. but i dont live in NY either. his sound is ill as fuck though.

this video is a .... kinda hard to describe. its a promo for people to donate money for a graffiti writer to get a good lawyer. but i like the song. here's Can I Get Open
