Cop Kills Unarmed 18-Year-Old In His Bathroom

Official: NYPD officer charged in fatal shooting

NEW YORK — A New York Police Department officer has been indicted in the shooting in February of an unarmed man who was pursued into his Bronx home amid a crackdown on street corner drug dealing, according to a law enforcement official.

Officer Richard Haste, 30, is to surrender Wednesday morning to face manslaughter charges in the death of 18-year-old Ramarley Graham, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity Monday because the indictment hadn't been made public.

this is very wrong whats up with police.. i bet they dont even get in trouble besides the paid leave that they get when they are involved in a shooting

When a police officer commits a crime the police union immediately covers it up and affords them protection a citizen can never dream of.

then, a brother of his police union will investigate his crime.. and find him not guilty.

Sometimes, without violence, a good and real solution to problems evolves.
However, this is NOT one of those times.
Manslaughter is definitely far too trivial a charge for the cop, who should face murder charges.

I am NOT advocating violence in solving this (or other) issues.
I am saying that

a) without violence, we can and should solve problems like these on a societal level, and
b) in this case, the cop already has gotten off far too easy.

If he goes to jail, I am sure that the other prisoners will take matters into their own hands, though.

Sad how many lives have been prematurely ended due this futile war on drugs, started/declared by probably the most crooked U.S. president in history who reportedly really enjoyed taking his Dilantin.

^ Yeah i think the Dilantin made him abit stupid (a side effect is feeling dumbed down) or perhaps Nixon was just a moron to begin with. Too bad the phenytoin didn't go toxic and kill the bastard :p

This cop should have been charged with second degree murder not manslaughter. If it had been a civilian they would be facing murder charges so why should cops get off easier? Then again if we treated cops the same as civilians when it comes to the crimes they commit there would be very few police officers not in prison. I mean what do you think would happen if i decided to tazer or pepper spray a person for no reason? Assault with a weapon causing bodily harm at the very least. I swear these cunts are sick in the head because who in their right mind would do that to begin with.

We have 2 set's of laws it seems one for civilians and one for the pigs. I still think a few assassinations of police officers would make people think alot harder of joining the force. It wouldn't take much seeing as how most cops are cowards to begin with. If there numbers dwindled by say even 30% that would be worth the price of a few good shots from a sniper or a few car bombs. But no country in the west is willing to make these cowardly thugs hiding behind badges accountable for their actions and the people certainly aren't willing to do so given that from the time you go to grade school you are taught that cops are good. Talk about indoctrination :|

No doubt about this. 100% agree.

It seems to work well in Iraq. But should be be emulating them?
Instead, I think putting the police in a position where they have to answer to the public would do more good as far as keeping them from doing evil. The system must be cleaned of corruption, but killing cops won't do that. It will only make them shoot bigger guns, earlier. You must know their mentality is one of violence and fear and hatred and desire for power. Killing one like that doesn't stop the others from doing evil things. But having them lose their jobs when NON-police citizens demand it might work. Setting up commissions of regular people to give orders to the police commissioner might work. Not rich business people, or politicians, but regular folks - like a jury. We are dealing with people who want power, and this way they lose some of their power. Maybe the next generation of power-thirsters won't be enamored with becoming cops, and we will get some more good people instead.

This is true. But... I don't know how it is in other countries, but in the US virtually no local politician can win an election without the endorsement of the police unions, and police unions withhold their endorsement when politicians set up civilian review panels.

The system is rigged, and it may be impossible to unrig it. All you can do is hope for incremental small victories.

Because certainly getting his marijuana would make SO much of a difference in the Bronx.

Fucking. Pigs.

A child goes missing, someone gets raped, someone is robbed at weapon point; yet they choose to go after some kid with a little m-jay.

It makes me sick.

That scum bag should get life but sadly even if he does get charged it will be less than the charge that kid would of got if he wasn't shot.

Any body remember the story were a guy was stoped by a cop and the cop asked if he had anything illegal on him. The guy went to pull out his bag of weed and when the cop saw the bag he thought it looked like a gun and shot him dead infront of his brother. It was posted on here a while back.

an excellent example of why all cops should have a taser, remember that not all do

also an excellent example of why you dont run from the police, especially if you have a lil bag of weed

im pretty sure cops are told be extra catious when chasing a suspect into a home because that is where weapons are kept

yes this a good case example of why unjust drug laws should be changed, but you should be aware of the risks when you engage in illegal activities especially when coupled with resisting and evading arrest

sad to see a kid killed over some weed
