Cop Kills Unarmed 18-Year-Old In His Bathroom

Their fellow cops will always stand up for them, that's the problem, and why I have no respect for any cop. Even those who are personally well intentioned and honorable and respectful protect those who aren't. They always choose a fellow cop before the general public they're supposed to protect, because this 'war on drugs' rhetoric has taught them to act as an army, treating citizens as enemy troops and the cities they're supposed to 'protect and serve' as occupied territory.

The cops are here to serve and protect that much they got right buy they are their to serve and protect the interests of the state not of the people. In effect they are the first line of defense that the state has. Anyone who signs up to be a cop no matter how well intentioned they may be are just fueling the oppression of the people. So therefore they are just as guilty as any other pig.

I still think making these fuckers think twice about signing up would be a good option. Noone want's to check their car every morning for a bomb or wonder if a sniper if gonna blow their brains out when they step outside the door. They impose terror on us so the least we could do is return the favor.

So many comments in other papers along the lines of "Excellent shooting officers! One less scumbag to worry about." And even a healthy smattering of "One less vote for Obama!"

I agree with Paranoid Android one day we are going to have to realize that we are involved in a war and right now its an extremely one sided turkey shoot.

For the third time in a week, an NYPD officer has shot and killed a suspect. Yesterday an unidentified officer killed 18-year-old Ramarley Graham with a single bullet to the chest. The officer, a member of the narcotics unit, had chased Graham into his home, seen him flush something down a toilet and reportedly saw him make "furtive" movements, apparently prompting the cop to fire. Graham—who lived with his mother, grandmother and 6-year-old brother—was immediately mourned by family and neighbors. "Nobody deserves to get shot like that, in your own house," his bereaved mother, Constance Malcolm, cried to reporters.

The shooting occurred after 3 p.m. at East 229th street in the Wakefield section of the Bronx, when police approached Graham after arresting two alleged drug dealers. According to one law-enforcement source Graham had "eight prior arrests, including burglary, robbery, dealing marijuana and other offenses." Reportedly a small amount of marijuana (the NYPD's favorite drug) was found in Graham's toilet. "Everybody’s kids get into trouble. He smoked a little weed, but you know, like all the little, young kids does," his mother explained last night. "And that’s what he had on him when they were chasing him."

the kid was just flushing dope down the toilet, not trying to hurt the cop. but the cop got scared so he pulled the trigger. thats what happens when some gun wielding people get scared, they pull the trigger.

It's not like sporadic fights against the police as well as military forces haven't been fought by relatively small groups it just hasn't been done in North America or atleast not for a very long time. A few incidents of people targeting police would put abit of fear in them and the more of them you get the more terror you put in them. There would be a backlash but keeping up the pressure could atleast make people think very hard about joining the ranks of the cops.

It's a foreign concept here to think that perhaps the police don't have your best interests at heart and don't work for the people. They are the first line of oppression in any good state.

fuck the police.
oh no hes flushing the evidence, LETS KILL HIM.
fuck you that cop should shoot himself in the head.

I Like how in response to this bluelighters (who are usually pretty mature) decide the best course of action would be to become terrorists?

Cause that totally works, like all the time. ¬_¬ Violence doesn't fix violence. as shitty as it is.

^^^
so the better solution is to continue to allow them to murder and lock us in cages?

"power is derived from the barrel of a gun"

but I get your point.

It's all just getting way too depressing. Story after story.... How did I land in this world, and how do I get out?

There are no terrorists just people who use terror to achieve a goal. Putting terror into any potential new recruits would atleast make them think twice of slapping that badge on. If they thought they would catch a bullet to the head when they stepped out their door or if they thought their car might blow up every time they start it do you really think they would take the risks?

I don't see how saying violence is a solution to a problem is immature. If anything the mindless pacifism that goes on is much more immature then people who think we should stick up for ourselves and maybe put a stop to tyranny. Why should we not take up arms against a system that is killing people indiscriminately? As long as there is oppression violence remains a legitimate tool of the oppressed. If anything it is the pacified population that is letting this type of stuff go on in the first place. A tyrants best weapon is a pacifist as the tyrant will not care if they stand around chanting or occupying some park but once the people who want to burn the system down start sticking up for themselves and firing back then it get's their attention. If people stood up and said for every civilian you kill we will kill 2 of yours and acted on it i think there would be alot less cops killing people.

What do you propose? Sit around and beg for freedom while holding flowers?

Is Mao Zedong really someone we want to emulate?
He spent his days raping virgins to steal their energy and eating green tea, which was supposed to be good for everything, and helped his oral hygiene since he did not brush his teeth.
His failed policies - making all "comrades" stop growing food, and begin forging iron - caused a famine in which 50 million people died. All the bark was eaten off of the trees in North China, and all the animals were eaten from the zoos.

I think that a better approach might be to do exactly what he didn't do.

I would advocate education, not violence, as a method of change. We need to counter the propaganda of DARE, and the rest.
I believe that once the masses understand that the drug war is a war against people, they will change their minds.

And thats why your happy living in a cop killing fantasy world, if you honestly think it'll improve the world then go out and do it, enjoy prison.

Well id be the last person to defend that despot but that's a damn good quote. Your right in that education is essential but how the hell can we end the drug war without any blood shed when so many people in rather high positions profiting on it and the US government as well as most other governments in the world completely unwilling to change their policies. Granted i think the policing problem goes far deeper then just the war on drugs but that's a entirely different subject.

And thats why your happy living in a cop killing fantasy world, if you honestly think it'll improve the world then go out and do it, enjoy prison.

Well could you blame me to be pissed off with the fascist swine when Ive had friends who have had their door busted down and the cops come in acting like the Gestapo waiving their guns around. Cops truly are the lowest of the low and they actually get off on their authority and abusing it. Until people wake up and realize that the cops are not their to protect or serve us nothing will change. And if it is going to take educating the populace to get us out of a nanny state then we can expect the drug war to go on for another 500 years or so.

On the subject of killing cops well better a dead pig then a actual person who does something for society or does not harm anyone. I would not grieve if the occasion arouse that i had to put one out of everyone's misery. As for you well go hold flowers in front of the old bailey or something and see how much that changes anything. Pacifism allows tyranny to go unchecked.

^ Because every policeman is out to kill all drug users, black people and any other minority you can think of. It's not like they solve murders, or catch rapists & muggers.

Yeah the drug laws are bullshit, but advocating violence against people who in their minds are only trying to do good makes you no better than your average gun wielding thug. The cop who helped my missuses friend when she got raped? does she deserve to die? how about our local supercop whos put hundreds of violent people behind bars a year?

Yep, lets kill them all because some of your friends got caught doing something illegal. They're all evil terrible people.

paranoid android (and those who agree with him) has done what I thought impossible, and actually made me ashamed to be associated with this site. -.-

Given the quote in question - how are we NOT in the same boat? (We = US govt / armed forces)

The reason North America is in such a rut in terms of fighting back is, oh, cosigned by our military getting #1 budget choice (http://www.ellensplace.net/fascism.html - have a read).

Sure, I'm all for grassroots revolution. But I can't fight an M1 Abrams tank... Or reaper / predator drones, or AC-130's, or A10 Warthogs, or.. you get my point. I don't have trillions to piss away in bullets.

Not every cop but even the ones with good intentions are causing the problem as for every good deed they do a thousand more bad ones are caused by them. What do you think would change tomorrow if the police did not exist? If we hung every lousy one of them from the gallows tomorrow the laws that people follow would not change. One could argue that people who advocate that we actually need the police for anything only do so because they feel like they need someone to watch out for them. The cops do not prevent any crimes and they barely even catch anyone doing it and i sure as shit do not think of the laws if i am doing something illegal. As for any protection they provide i would only call them for insurance purposes as in if someone robbed by stuff. A shotgun or a baseball bat is a much more trustworthy method for protecting yourself then calling the pigs in.

I don't care if you met a few good intentioned police as their numbers are so miniscule that they matter not anyway. They are still creating the problems and not solving them. Also why should we not advocate that people take up arms to protect themselves from the police? They are shooting us down like dogs whenever they choose to so why should we not do the same to them?

how the hell can we end the drug war without any blood shed when so many people in rather high positions profiting on it and the US government as well as most other governments in the world completely unwilling to change their policies.

The government and corporations control essentially everything.
But things can change without bloodshed.
Laws surrounding tobacco and alcohol have changed dramatically, several times, in the past century. No bloodshed.
It involved public understanding.
The government was not the one that wanted the change in most cases (though prohibition was different).
But the public demand ultimately shaped the way things evolved.
If we educate the public, more and more people will demand an end to the drug war.
After reaching a certain threshold, the government will act like it was their idea, but will do what the public wants because they are afraid of not being elected the next time.
No violence is necessary to make the most profound changes. Instead, we need a firm commitment, education, and some patience.
We will win this battle, and this war. People will look back in 200 years and be shocked that drug users were officially discriminated against, just as we look back on the time, just 100 years ago, when women were not allowed to vote, with shock, horror, and disgust.

(For my views on violence, see my location to the left)

I agree with every word of this, but I still think fighting a guerrilla war of attrition against the cops would be catastrophic. This isn't The Battle of Algiers (good fucking movie).
