Concerns about MDA lasting effects

Hi all. Under a week ago, my boyfriend and I had a traumatic episode after taking MDA. We've been having some strange lasting symptoms since the trip, and I wanted to know what exactly happened to us and if there's anything we can do to reduce the damage.

First some background info. The drugs we sold to us as "Molly." we had used this dealer in the past and he's got a pretty good reputation so we weren't worried about whether or not the product was MDMA. It wasn't. I don't know if this was pure sass, mightve very well been mixed with MDMA and speed, but whatever it was definitely contained some MDA judging from the experience.

Since we thought we were taking MDMA , our doses were absurdly large. Even if it was real Molly, we'd be pushing the limits. In hindsight, these were very dangerous doses and I probably should have done maybe half as much. I took roughly 300mg orally and redosed 150mg five hours later. My boyfriend, who I'll call L, ingested about 350mg and redosed 200mg at the same times I did. I'm 5'5" at 99 lbs and he's 5' 10" at 140 lbs.

The drug hit fast and hard. Around 15 minutes after dosing, L was rolling a joint. He was completely normal one second, and then the next he couldn't sit still. His hands started trembling violently, to the point where he couldn't roll, and he was shivering. He threw up shortly afterward. At about the same time he came up, my teeth began to chatter. And I don't mean typical teeth grinding when you're high on stims. My jaw was rapidly vibrating off my face, involuntarily. I couldn't stop doing this for hours, causing me to develop huge sores and slices on my tongue by the end of the trip.

Whatever we took really hit us like a brick wall, sober one minute and tweaked the next. My vision was moving quickly from side to side because our eyes were jiggling involuntarily. There was that euphoric body high but it wasn't a relaxing one. It was like I had this obscene amount of energy that I couldn't do anything with other than grind my teeth and shiver nonstop. I had strong acid-like visuals that lasted for a couple hours, but L didn't have any. After the redose, everything became very overwhelming for me. My heart started beating very fast and I had trouble thinking straight and remembering how to breathe. I felt like i was going to die. All i could do was lie down with my eyes closed and take deep breaths until the effects subsided. It was very difficult to gather the energy to even speak. About 4 hours after the second dose i fell asleep and later vomited. Oddly enough, L's second dose didn't hit him or boost his high whatsoever, but he was unable to sleep the entire night.

The morning after the trip, we each took 100mg of 5 HTP but it didn't offer the same relief it usually has after a roll. We were deeply plagued by fatigue and inability to focus. Sometimes my mind would drift off without warning amid conversations, and at one point I fainted because I hadn't eaten for so long. L kept having leg twitches throughout the day.

For the past 5-6 days, we've both been prone to frequent lightheadedness, spaciness, and reduced appetite. I just feel weak on the whole. Small physical tasks like waking and carrying groceries feel substantially more strenuous on my body. I feel like i'm on the edge of fainting a lot of the time when i stand up or smoke weed. L still has involuntary body twitches a few times a day, along with shaky vision. He's also told me that he's had brief "flashbacks" of the body high a few times now.

What i want to know is how much damage we did to ourselves during this sass trip, and what can we do to fix it. Why are we having these lasting symptoms, and how can we treat them? I'd appreciate any advice, and thanks for bearing with this long post. Stay safe by testing your drugs. Don't let what happened to me happen to you. Even reputable dealers can get scummy.

Sounds like the dealer we bought drugs from and same thing we didnt test them. Both my ex bf and his friend vomited from taking mdma I did not vomit but I am still suffering from a bad comedown (I am on month 5). You took high doses and you have affected your serotonin at this point. What you can do for now is eat foods that are high in trytophan: seafood, dairy products, nut seeds and legumes. My comedown was worst than yours and I am doing fine now though I am still not back to my old self, slowly I am gettin to it. I am also taking supplements such as Omega 3 - 3 times a day, multivitamins, Vitamin B complex, vitamin c and magnesium malate. What really helped me a lot is exercising, I am a cardio freak so I usually would run for 40 min to an hour max everyday. I cannot promise you a timeline as to when you are going to recover because everyone is different but all I know is the brain needs a lot of time to heal itself.

Was this your first time? MDA is more potent than MDMA weight for weight and that was a horrificly large dose for your size, weight and percieved experience with the drug (if you were experienced you would have known this was a bad idea). It sounds like the experience was too much for you but I highly doubt you have any lasting damage whatsoever.

It could well have been MDA, at a dose that large it will almost certainly give you strong, hallucinoenic-esque visuals. Since you didnt test it we wont know for sure. Your dealer might have sold you the best MDA you're ever likely to come across.

The trick to post MDMA/MDA recovery is forcing yourself to eat. Once your digestive system is back on track everything else follows. Your appetite will return the day after you have a good meal.

Hope all is good.

You both are pretty dumb, why can't you just enjoy the drug with out having to go face first and do a HUGE dose. Even if it was pure mdma which it still could have been, that is a huge dose.
These are the same kind of people that buy new heroin, do a large shot and die. First know what your dealing with , before going balls to the wall with it. Better to be safe, than sorry.
What you are experiencing is neurotoxicity, how long it will last no one knows. If you are lucky symptoms may be gone within a week or 2 but i have a suspicion that you will have lingering symptoms for months.

truth. money corrupts.

we cant give you an answer op because we dont know what you ingested. im confident you will recover, though let this experience serve as a reminder.

look after yourself!

:)

Yeah, dealers can get a bad batch and still need to move it. They aren't just going to throw it away and lost the cash on it. Trust no one.

To me it doesn't sound like MDMA, but we are not allowed to speculate.

*Facepalm*....Hey! I've just bought these drugs from a dealer who I have been told is legit. Don't worry though, there is no need to test the stuff, because everyone else says its great! I was thinking about how large our starting dose should be (considering we don't know what this substance is), and I came to to the conclusion that we should start with...300mg. Thats a great idea Triple Life! Perhaps we can re-dose with 150mg later too! OMG I love this "Molly"

/Seriously/: Why is this still happening?!?! Call me a dick all you want, but YOU (yes YOU) are the reason why the Government does not awknowledge responsible drug use....

How the Conversation SHOULD of gone::

(Dealer:) Want to buy some Molly?
*You walk away*

Molly is utter shite. Its dirty, its a mixture of God knows fucking what, and I'm sick of hearing it! Buy a test kit, test your gear (Marquis + Simon's). If you are unsure of the doseage, do some research. AFTER you have established the minimum threshold doseage for the material, go from there.

No sympathy.

SIDE NOTE: I am tired and hung-over, hence my short amount of patience.
