I can't begin to imagine how it would feel to be born into the wrong body and the boat load of issues that would come with that. Sorry you feel that way, though I must say you're not the only person to have expressed similar sentiments.
Sometimes it can definitely seem as if these things are ignored in favour of a supposedly laissez-faire approach that appeases a small number of long-term posters while alienating new ones. Which is a real shame.
I'm certainly not one to shy away from 'controversial' humour, but there's a difference between that and wanton ignorance.
I know if I were new to this forum and read some of the comments on this thread, I wouldn't be keen on sticking around.

Don't let my youthful good looks fool you, over the years I have learnt a few thing, one of which is at least four ways a transvestite can tuck her tackle so as to continue the illusion that took 2 hours in front of a mirror to achieve. My point is we are all happy for Julie. It takes a lot of courage and I for one hope her work mates are as encouraging. I'm sure they have questions, and there will be awkward moments and plenty laughs. After all if you can't laugh at yourself you may as well give up and become a monk.

I can't see any "humour" in the thread, controversial or not.
I know of a transsexual IRL and he/she has had severe upbringing problems. One can only naturally ponder on the authenticity of the change and what complex's could have lead to a desired change of identity.
Anyway I have no doubt that BJ and others hate nothing more than being psycho-analysing and the surmising over their orientation. Was in a pissy mood last night tbh
I'm glad BJ has had the confidence to be open to others about her/him self and I'm sure that will become a positive pre-cursor to whatever stage of personal progression it leads too. No offence intended towards his/her choice whatsoever.

Why on earth should you (or anybody) be pondering the 'authenticity of the change' in the first place?

I think that's what Trotsy/Trotsky was trying to get at, that the OP should be commended and empathy is rare in this world in many cases, at least in my experience. He's my husband, btw, and his name was a typo. He's not a total idiot. He has nothing against him, too, it's a lyric from a Strangler's song and he was fucked up when he registered, not knowing how fucked up this site would turn out to be. How's that for irony? I don't think either of us are cut out for this place, and I'm sure have caused more upset to the overall majority that run the 'scene'. Sorry to the mods that got thrown into this mess.
