Apparentely the only test that can tell us what is going on in our brain is the PET scan with dopamine tracers.
PET: PET stands for Positron Emission Tomography.
It is a medical imaging technique that uses a small amount of a radioactive substance (called a tracer) to visualize and measure processes in the body. When the tracer emits positrons, these collide with electrons, producing gamma rays that are detected by the scanner. This allows doctors to create detailed 3D images of metabolic or biochemical activity in tissues and organs, often used to study the brain, heart, and certain cancers.
With dopamine D2 tracers we can mapping and image of our receptors aviability and that image can be compared to a healthy brain that usally they use as a reference.
Only by doing that we can know what exactly is goin on, but Guess what? They don’t give this exam like a blood exam or a RM, this is more likely scientific neither medical so is very very hard to obtain this exam.
Anyways since it is the only exam that can tell us something about our actual problem, I’m pushing to get it.
