Hey guys. Newb here, 1st post. 10 yrs on full opiates, 2 on suboxone. Not being preachy, many are already fully aware I can see from some of the threads, just putting in my 2 cents worth, but here goes. Longtime user, high tolerance. I'd been off any street stuff for a year using subs, first IV, then in the last two months sublingually...cutting the slivers smaller each time. Cold turkey day came, & so did the WITHDRAWALS FROM HELL!! I understand it will be different for everyone, but for me personally, I think it's waaay worse than a full on agonist! Then to make matters worse, when I just couldn't take it anymore, all I could find were Fent 50 & 100 mcg patches. THAT withdrawal was worse than anything I've ever experienced. Today is day 6 of 100% clean. I've lost 14 lbs this week, been admitted & released from the hospital yesterday. Starting to feel a little better. I guess if anyone takes the time to read this, my message would be : PLEASE don't F*#@K AROUND WITH THE FENT UNLESS YOU HAVE A VERY HIGH TOLERANCE, YOU ARE DYING AND OR IN CHRONIC PAIN, AND IT BECOMES A QUALITY OF LIFE ISSUE!!! Again, I apologize if I sound like a damned preacher, or am just reiterating what you guys already know... THE SH#T CAN KILL YOU QUICK! THANK GOD FOR NARCANE, AMERICA, THE 4TH OF JULY, ... PEACE

I totally agree with what you said about the longer you do hard opiates in general, the worse your withdrawal gets... I'm been on opiates for ten years( the only opiate I've never tried was opana). My withdrawals suck no matter what I've been using, whether it be oxy, h,morphine, or even subs... Dts always suck now.... I will say thanks for your story, keep fighting, I'm on day three hot cold started panic started and my stomach is just starting to boil.... Insomnia full force none of my comfort meds are working so far, and I have quite a road before this feels ok....
Congrats to you for six days!
Stay safe,
Ziebug

Thanks for the support and the warm welcome guys! I'm still trying to stay strong, but damn its hard. I appreciate you guys sharing some of your stories with me as well. I'm still pretty shaky and weak, but thanks to phenergan, clonidine, and my Mary Jane lol, I'm still kicking. Hey RTP, sorry not up on the lingo yet. What is ROA? Forgive my ignorance, even read the FAQ's

Stay strong! Sleep lots & drink lots! Gotta keep that weight up. For me, I started feeling better on day 5, hopefully you have/will as well. Keep me posted on your progress! We all need support, fer shure!

Lol Mary Jane is definitely my favorite! I have had times in my life where all I did was smoke and be in nature( I'm not a hippie, I swear) and they were the best times! I will say unless if your not used to it I'm not sure it would help during withdrawal( you might feel a bit crazy)... but if you are a 15 year every day smoker like me, if can be a godsend.....
congrats again, I'm still struggling, caved in yesterday but success stories of getting through dts like that definitely give me hope that i can do it too.:)
stay safe,
ziebug

Lol ziebug! I've been smokin left handed cigs longer than regulars, haha. Keeps me balanced when nothin else can. Feelin even better after mowing, got the endorphins goin a lil. Day by day.... So how things going on your end? Keeping the faith still I hope. Glad I could help in a small way. Oh, & no worries, I'm just a neck from the sticks.....?

I was on morphine sulfate 60mg once a day for 5 years and just went cold turkey 7 days ago I'm over the physical stuff except the runs and a slight headache now and then but now I'm feeling down I keep reading about PAWS and it's kinda discouraging I don't know how long it's gonna last or if it will ever go away any advice?

From what I've read, you're already through the first stage of it. What I read about paws is that the second phase is the more emotional depressed mood swing stage...I'd imagine the duration would be based on the individual...idk

Hey keep up the good work. ROA= Route Of Administration, ie, snorted, injected, oral etc.

Yup, lol.... I had to clarify, I'm a huge lover of hardcore 80s punk, and I think making sure people know I'm not a hippie is in the handbook somewhere, jk lmao=D... I'm doing ok for now.... I'm doing pod tea+mj for my own at home maintenance until I can arrange to go to a medical detox for a week or two, I just have too much at home to contend with to be sick like that(work, kid, house, laundry, etc....) and tapering is something that eludes me everytime I try, so I'm think it's the best route for me.... Once I successfully withdraw, I'm so shell shocked that I tend to stay clean for a whiles, except during bad paws which can be a very testing time for me.... We shall see, all I can do is try to set myself for what I think is the right approach for me now.....
Congrats again,
Ziebug...

Thanks again Ziebug ? I'm glad you're holding shit down on your end!! Believe it or not, I'm actually on day 13 now & I know what you're saying about the mental part of paws. The wife doesn't understand, since she's never had to deal with it...she just gets drunk & passes out (but that's acceptable lol). I'm an 80's child as well... Van Halen, Candlebox, Tool, Perfect Circle, etc.... But I also like some of the ol stuff: CCR, Hendrix, Allman Bros, Zeppelin, James Brown, Otis Redding, blah blah blah lol. Anyhow, I sent you a friend request. Hope to hear how it's goin! Peace?

Thanks Evey! Nice to know there's at least a couple of people out there are reading my drivel ?
