Colo. toddler tests positive for THC after eating pot cookie off ground

Underage eating of marijuana is /years old smoked hash (and some weed, but mostly foreign hash was the main thing here then still). Can't imagine smoking 'jam'(aican) at 8 years old, but my brother got something fine out of life and a good environment tech/land assessment job. But the only thing time I got some jam, i only needed to smoke a quarter of a knife hit to get where i wanted to be, but pushed there. So weed is generally stronger now blah blah, everyone's parents were smoking high quality hash then!

Disagree with what?

I was saying (or at least trying to say) that even in two-parent families, it is impossible to watch a child 24/7.
Is this what you disagree with?

Are you claiming that you watch your child (ren) 24/7?
Are you saying that you have never turned your eyes away from them when they were outside, even for a half a minute?
(If so, I suspect that your child must be an infant)

Do you pay someone else to watch your child?

Do you think that a child needs more than 30 seconds to eat a cookie they find on the ground?

Don't you think (as I believe) that the fact that your child has never ingested anything that she shouldn't have is, at least in part, due to luck?
Or do you think that parents have complete control?
Do you really believe that life is as simple as that?

Sorry for all the questions; I am just surprised to see a parent saying what I think you might be saying.

I was once with a friend and her son in a market. The friend is an excellent mother, and watches her children like a hawk. Her son - probably about 2.5 or 3 years old - was walking 3 steps in front of her. Someone opened the bulk almonds and spilled them all over the floor. Before anyone could react, her son had pounced and was shoving them into his mouth, directly from the floor. Even though she was watching him, he got the food into his system. Seeing this, I realized deeply that it is not humanly possible to control every second of your child's life, even if you are watching carefully.

i disagree that this media article has anything to do with single parenting AND that single parents are any less capable of providing solid care for their children.

I think single parents are great parents and i think that saying a single parent cant or doesn't do as good a job as a parenting couple is not based in fact. yeah there is one more set of eyes and ears and a second brain.. but there is also the distraction of another person.. when single parents are with their kids the kid gets all the attention, while when two parents are present then so much of the attention of the parents is on each other as well. But I also agree with slim that there is no way that a single parent or a parent pair can watch a child all the time. But i still say that the cookie was the ladies and she made this story up to save her own ass.. I say no harm no fowl.. I remember when a buddy of mines dog all the sudden got all drowsy and was falling and such.. brought him into the vet.. the vet brought him back and examined him... came back out of the examination room carrying a script pad and handed the script to my friend.. it read one bag of doritos.. the dog had puked and my boys stash had come up. But I bet if this lady was tested she would be hot for THC.. not that I want that to happen.. poor gilrs been through enough.

Ah, I get it now. I actually wasn't saying that single parents are less capable.
There are some single parents who kick ass at parenting, and other couples (or even threesomes) that have little interest and are terrible, selfish parents.
I know this, and wasn't doubting or questioning it.
However, my point was that even with a couple, it is impossible to watch a child 24/7.
For single parents, this job is likely to be even more difficult, as they don't have help.
That is all.

i still say that the cookie was the ladies and she made this story up to save her own ass.
I think you may be right about that. Hard to say, and we will probably never be able to know. Even if she tested positive for THC, it wouldn't mean that the cookie was hers.

in other news a women tested positive for being a slouch mother who lets her children eat random things off the ground.. could be way worse sweetheart could have eaten something that could have caused real damage like a few Tylenol, a few multivitamins, some damn rat poison, dog shit, rotten food.. yeah better keep an eye on your kid lady. Bad mothers should be banned, think of the children.. if you dont think bad mothers should be banned you are against the children.. how can you live with yourself when you are against the children.

"“All of the parents watch out for their children. I don’t want other children getting what she got,” she said." good advice so good you better take it yourself Ms. Hernandez.. that is if it wasn't really your or you boyfriends cookie. Yeah I just noticed my 2 year old getting sleepy and instantly thought it was a pot laced cookie she found on the ground.. yeah right.. who are you Sherlock Holmes.. this shit stinks of utter bullshit.. she is lying through her teeth.. of course the house was clean because she cleaned all her shit put before she left for the hospital.

Dear stereotypical mom: assuming your story is true, please remember to look out for your little one picking up anything off the ground and - since she's a toddler and usually sees it as part of a healthy diet - attempting to munch on it. What if it was dog shit, or a used needle? Or both?

Furthermore, when such an incident does occur, please... and I'm mean please stop pointing your finger at anyone but yourself and, in doing so, playing the same old "think of the children" card. As a parent, I sincerely understand you're worried about your child's wellbeing, but you're not helping anybody by doing so. And that includes your kids.

So swallow your pride, thank God, Oprah, Dr. Oz, or whomever it may concern that the incident didn't turn out as bad as it could have, and move on before the prohibitionist / pro-drug war turds from Fox News or other members of the press with the aforementioned political compass become convinced that you'd make a great poster mom for the undermining of rational, scientifically-backed thinking in this controversial topic.

Good fucking day ma'am.
