Ive tried that method of use like you say, where i may use quite heavily for a couple of days and then take a week or two off yet i still suffer terrible withdrawals, yet when in the past i have taken slightly more moderate amounts but for consecutive days over a longer period of time, say 1-2 weeks i have suffered much less severe withdrawal symptoms.I don't think you are withdrawaling to be honest. You didn't take obscene amounts of opiates, and codeine is a very weak opiate as it is. More importantly, you weren't using for long amounts of time uninterrupted. You used for a couple days, took double that time off of them, then used for a couple more days. This is actually a fairly tried and true method of avoiding withdrawals. You probably just got a little bit sick.
For future reference - if you do feel withdrawals after ceasing your opiate use, just go to the drug store and buy some immodium. The active ingredient is Loperamide, which is an opioid. It has a tough time crossing the blood brain barrier, so you won't feel any sort of high unless you take large quantities (I don't feel any type of high unless I take 96mg+) which is why it is available OTC as diarreah medicine, but if you take 3-4 of the 2mg pills it will take away ALL of your withdrawal symptoms.
