I still love tramadol!!!

Although I haven't had any in a long time.

I still stand by bodily autonomy statement & fighting back!
Yesterday I saw a video on Youtube titled something about "Gas Station High" and how it "almost ruined their life". I'm pretty sure the topic was about kratom & it's extracts. This video had hundreds of thousands of views. Kratom is a bullshit, weak partial agonist with barely any effects to write home about. And this dude is crying about it & making it sound evil. Which means if people are whining about kratom, the crack down on real opioids will just get worse & worse. Cause you know they'll try & go after kratom again as well.

When are people going to accept that our governments DON'T want us to enjoy ourselves and DON'T care about people's pain or their right to bodily autonomy.

They will find all kinds of new shitty ass drugs that aren't opioids to treat pain & push those. It's already happening with shit like gabapentin. I've even seen people be given LEXAPRO for pain.
So SSRI dependence is fine but not opioid dependence? Give me a fucking break!!!!

Opioid lovers from around the world... we need to do something! We need to organize, make some noise or something to stop all this. Although I'm just a simple dude with nothing, so I have no idea where to begin or what I could do. All I can do is keep speaking out. And if I can help anyone get anything done or make a change in the world, hit me up!

tram got for real got good ad properties, but they last for a just few days.....it's good at occasionally use.....for painkiller-too weak...that's for me...not bad.painliller of the poor.cheap, otc(with apap)......relatively easy to quit..not bad.more long lasting

.but I voted for codeine....also weak stuff..but real opiate...stuff from the distant past..no available from years in pure form...not even in OTC pills affordable for cwe....so if I got before me 400mg tram and 400mg codeine.i will choose codeine

I love both,

But Imo Tramadol is more limited due to its weird activity, and has potential for more nastys with say withdrawal due to the SSRI activity,

Not to forget also the seizure threshold issues and how it will interact with a lot of substances.

Tramadol has an edge as a more multifaceted substance, and its duration is heavenly as others have said with clever staggering, Tramadol may be weaker but it’s buzz is very unique.

I have fond memories of it, it is fantastic for a get up and go day, smooth and subtle stimulation with lovely opioid effects.

Codeine is very much lay in a room chain smoking in the dark kinda vibe.

Both have upper limits due to enzyme conversion but Tramadols is worse due to seizure risk on top of the Enzyme conversion limit.

Codeine wins as a more “pure” opiate and I may be wrong but I believe 30mg Codeine= 50mg Tramadol,

But codeine is still odd with its conversion and its ability to have very nasty itching and then flushes etc,

Also its duration with tolerance diminishes substantially in my experiences and more than 1x big dose per 24 hours is annoying as it is very ineffective but a kind of safety feature somewhat.

I’d pick Tramadol if I wasn’t using other compounds,

But really it’s Codeine which also on paper to me is better and an obvious choice again due to safety.

I actually prefer codeine to DHC. Not sure why, just feels better but DHC is ok too.
I’d say the same, I get worse sides from DHC and although more potent by MG it’s not as warm, it feels more of a numbing, still pleasant.

Less itchy but DHC makes me feel so nauseous that I’ll always puke when having a smoke, and I found its constipation worse and running into the next day.

It’s way easier to over do DHC IMO as your not worried about wasting it like Codeine with redosing.

1000% Codeine.

But it more depends if you're on an SSRI or SNRI?
If you AREN'T, Tramadol might be better because it acts as an SNRI as well as a weak opioid.
But, personally, no dose of Tramadol (I did up to 1200mg) did much for me at all.

Looks like trams & codeine are almost tied, with codeine leading the way.

I mean, tramadol is a synthetic analog of codeine, so it's not surprising. What works for one person, doesn't do much for another.
I had some codeine over the summer (tylenol 3's). And the first day I used it, it was actually okay. I felt kinda warm & content for a few hours, but no major euphoria or anything.

Personally I think tramadol + low dose buprenorphine combo is way better than either codeine, tramadol or buprenorphine alone. The tramadol makes up for the lack of euphoria/mood lift from the bupe & the bupe makes up for the lack of "heaviness" that tramadol doesn't have. Bupe on it's own feels so hollow. It often puts me in a numb state of apathy all day, which isn't very enjoyable. I like the good mood, increased self confidence & energy that other opioids have.

Tramadol gave me way more music euphoria too than any other opioid though. Except maybe heroin. I LOVED listening to music on tramadol, almost every time. Repetitive industrial noise sounds + tramadol always ='d intense trance-like states & euphoria. But when I take something like buprenorphine or hydrocodone, the music euphoria can be hit or miss. And if I do get it with the latter two, it's pretty mild.

I've seen tramadol get unrightfully labeled as a "partial agonist" on many "scientific" & medical sites, but that's actually pretty false. It's metabolite, O-desmethyltramadol is a full agonist & responsible for most of the effects.

Tramadol is also a weak TAAR1 agonist, which means it releases serotonin rather than just inhibiting it. But this dirty pharmacological profile can cause a lot of side effects that people don't like. I just putr up with the side effects at the time cause I was heavily dependent on it.

@DeathIndustrial88.

I still love a good tramadol buzz or hardcore nod. But..in the same breath I would not be as happy with a pocket full of Trams(unless im worried of withdrawal type shit) UNLESS I had some other goodies to go with it.

My long crazy estranged addiction to trams required me to dose my 300-400mg..wait to kick in good, then rail oxycodone or oxymorphone and Gdamn what a feeling.

Or even a couple hydros or said codeine would be a stellar combo(shall i dare say throw a benzo in?) . ALSO during the tail end I always had to seek a different opioid just to get my mind and body right..and to prepare for that disgusting withdrawal.

Yeah it's a nice combo drug to go with other opioids. Hydrocodone by itself just makes me zone out & doesn't have much "oomph" to it, but in combination with trams it's much more enjoyable. And the trams last a few more hours than hydros.

I use to have an entire routine surrounded around my tramadol use. I'd get the script at whatever time of the month & then even without a tolerance, I still had to dose up to 300-400mg in a day that first day usually, maybe a little less. And then I'd have to stick with that 300-400mg almost every day for a few weeks., And then I'd run out & have to spend the last week or two weeks without any, which meant my tolerance would drop all the way back down. But those withdrawals were no joke. Not only do you feel the physical opioid withdrawal, but my brain would feel really detached, almost like a state of depersonalization/derealization. And I would get SO depressed. I became utterly useless for that last week or two every month. And then I'd get that next script & just start it all over again & be functional again.

Did that for 13 years, just about. But the last 2-3 years, I had help from bupe, so the withdrawals weren't as bad (still sucked a little tho). And did heroin off & on for 4-5 years. Which I noticed that once I had a heroin tolerance, I could not get any of the magic back from tramadol.

Codeine. Tram makes me irritated and too nervous, I had a seizure because iof it long time ago... Alcohol wd + tny dose of tram and a small line of speed = grand mal seizure

I’m now into my 66th year and sick of the increasing violence against the vulnerable and downtrodden. I think we all know the fucking perpetrator. . The mango moron, sicko, twisted scumbag of a president. Thankfully, my doctor is a compassionate guy who sees it how it is and prescribes some medication (Valium and Mirtazepine). I source my Tramadol elsewhere - this helps me arrive in the motivation station ready to partake of life’s onerous duties but I do worry about my consumption. It has been between 100mg and 200mg per day. However, this has been for nearly 20 years. Anyway, I need to get to the point. Last month with the aid of benzos I managed to reduce my intake down to 50mg daily for just over one week. There was one positive outcome and it was my skin. The tone improved drastically, particularly my crepeing wrinkled arms and belly. I suddenly became interested in my appearance again (because when I was a young man I was so fucking handsome!). However, it didn’t take long for my consumption of Tram to creep up again and, my giddy aunt, my saggy skin returned. I know this is anecdotal but i was wondering if anybody else has notice this phenomenon whilst reducing/stopping Tram?
Peace to all in these dark days.

@Preminger mango moron. That's a new one. I like it.

Dunno about withdrawal effects but 200mg tram a day isn't too excessive dosing imho .
You’re right 200mg per day is not excessive. Another thing I can obtain OTC Tram 37.5/325 Paracetamol which I have learnt to chop into small pieces. I remember reading here on Bluelight of someone successfully quitting Tram very gently using said method. Problem is once I’m off it I will need something to replace that nice little speedy buzz I get and the motivation to clean the house and feed the cat. Had some very nice speed a few months ago and I have the feeling I will be out hunting for some to get me through this winter. I sometimes feel that I ought to grow up but I don’t drink and still feel relatively healthy despite my heavy use in the past. I wonder if there are any other, shall we say older, recreational users here on bluelight?
Thanks anyway for your response BadBoy, I always enjoy your posts and those of Shambles, Stone Happy et al.
Hope you are all having a happy and peaceful weekend. Big hugs Preminger

Yeah of course there is!

Have you considered methylphenidate? Not too heavy but just give you a wee boost when you need.

Cheers, yeah a good weekend to you too!

I would love to be able to get methylphenidate. But even my GP might not oblige. He seems fine with ADs and downers but I wouldn’t want to push it by asking for pharm speed. I’ve only had one 50mg of Tram today and I feel fucking awful…runny nose, chills etc. Thanks anyway for the heads up. Maybe I could find an obliging private doctor. Cheers

I honestly don't know which is worse to be taking regularly. Probably tramadol. Methylphenidate a cleaner medicine and at least you can plan down time and time off without terrible withdrawals just tiredness.

Very good point regarding the down time. Luckily today I got a pack of Kerns 10mg diazepam so the Tram withdrawals are softened somewhat. In fact more than somewhat I’m happily chilling with my iPad after necking three of those lovely little light blue pills.

I like both but honestly, tramadol Is longer acting, higher mood-lift almost like small dose of amphet. + opioid but seizure risk Is big. Still prefer tramadol but dihydrocodeine Is better than both tram and codeine :D

Tramadol all the way….. 1/10th potency or Morphine but has Norepinephrine and Serotonin reuptake inhibition properties which enhance the analgesic properties of Tramadol

Also tramadol has a main active metabolite that’s very much more potent as an mu-opioid agonist

Tramadol + Oxycodone (Oxy-IR 5mg)
Pregabalin 150mg
Alprazolam 0.5mg
Ritalin (Methylphenidate) 5-10mg tablet

If you can opt for Tapentadol/Palexia this will be even more potent but only 1 step above as tramadol is to codeine, this however is far less toxic to your body and provides norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors and is a weak actor of the benzoid system. The Slow release are 50-100-150-200-250 and the slow depending on country 50-75mg they are about 5x weaker than oxycodone and .3 the strength roughly of morphine. However I have not just a personal affliction to tramadol and not so great reactions. I have known only more and more pain specialists and anaesthetists that have complete removed tramadol from their tool belt if you will.
Having tried tapentadol, I don't understand why everyone compares it to tramadol & says it's stronger or better. Though I'm aware everyone reacts differently to drugs. Tapentadol is only a partial agonist tho, with no active metabolites. Tramadol is a partial agonist but has a full agonist metabolite that is much more potent, so it's basically a full agonist. Tapentadol IS more potent than tramadol, but all that means is that you need less tapentadol to get an effect than you do tramadol. But since tapentadol is only a partial agonist, it's not going to provide "stronger effects" or pain relief.

To me, tapentadol felt incredibly weird. That norepinephrine reuptake inhibition is waaay too strong. Made me feel like I had a dark cloud hanging over my head whenever I'd take it. It was trash compared to tramadol in my opinion. The withdrawal was a little odd too cause I've never had to come off of a strong norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor like that.

I think a lot of people see misinformation online, cause I've seen a lot of articles & stuff claiming "tapentadol is the better tramadol!" and that it's "10x more potent than tramadol!", which makes it sound like it's going to be better than tramadol. Except potency doesn't mean anything really in this scenario. So they're kind of just preying on people's lack of pharmacology knowledge to make tapentadol sound more appealing than it really is.
