Yeah, I hope they don't make it prescription only.. Do they record your details or ask for your licence for it atm? I've never bought it or used it before.
Codeine ban will induce headaches: pharmacists
Hmmm that's strange, as have bought codeine quite a few times since 2010 but never once been asked for ID or anything. Pharmacists at most ask "is it for yourself? Are you on any other medication?". Often they ask nothing at all and just hand the box over.
Having said that ~2010 there was definite changes in that they started keeping the boxes behind the counter. I remember it used to be possible to buy like 4 boxes of 75 tablets without even talking to the pharmacist (the only person you had to get past was the cashier, often a young person who probably had no idea what it was you were buying anyway).
So does this mean that the rescheduling went through but pharmacists are just being lazy? Or is it because I don't look like I would be abusing them? From the article it sounds like they were planning to put it on the same level as pseudoephedrine, for which I've always had to hand over ID.
The police have (to my understanding) very little say in what can be sold without a prescription. No no no. It's the
a) useful comment
b) utter crap and
c) off topic banter
that throws off the fuzz!!!
The 2010 changes were "restricting pack size" and having pharmacist's ask those questions you mention above.

They are law enforcers; not law-makers.
It's the populist politicians - and people that get themselves into horrid medical problems with OTC pill abuse (ie not cold water extracted) that ruin it for those of us with the skillz to find a way to eat codeine fairly safely.
And the "utter crap" reference is to the stuff people advocate that is not safe, and jeopardises the harm minimisation aims of Bluelight.
