So, I know cocaine is one of the most cardiotoxic stimulants to to its effect on sodium channels and its local anasthetic properties, but I don't know about the cardiotoxicity of coca leaf, when chewed or drank. Does this relatively small, gradual release of cocaine reduce all of the harmful effects? Also, are there other alkaloids in coca that mediate those effects? just can't find that much in pubmed honestly
