Coaxil and the Crocodile: Post-Soviet Heroin Substitutes

Glad you enjoyed it. Does anyone object if I include other posts here? I'm working on a post on TimeRX, Oxy OP and other "anti-abuse" systems which will probably be a bit basic for Bluelight, but my next post describing the heroin scene in Yunnan, China (conveniently located between Burma and Afghanistan) may prove interesting to BL readers.

I don't want to become Spammy McSpammer flooding the boards with links to my blog and promos for my book. If you would rather I keep posts to a minimum let me know.

No, it's fascinating stuff, please keep it up :D

I am from georgia. I have tried coaxil dezomorphine is a new thing there and I moved out to LA so never heard of it. I have talked to some people over there about it and they told me they use the same procedure fore dezomorphine as they do with vint(dirty homemade methamphetamine) So a lot of iodine and phosphurs remain in the solution. The scariest thing people do is extract red phosphuros from matches. The striker part of the matches and that also end's up in your final solution.

The desomorphine user whose lower jaw had been eaten away by phosphorous will haunt my dreams for many years to come. (According to a Russian viewer who understood the audio, he was shooting in his neck after blowing out all his other veins. This led to a huge concentration of phosphorus in his head: the necrotic holes in his deformed and crumbling jaw were matched by the necrotic holes filling his deformed and crumbling brain... ).

Out of the Coaxil users you knew in Georgia, how many of them wound up with serious damage from their habit? I am assuming the Russian media are playing up the worst cases of Coaxil abuse, but I'm also guessing that people who shoot dozens of pills a day without micron filters tend to get some really nasty consequences before too long.

Post away, man. We'll let you know if you're steppin' out of line. :)

I used to shoot up coaxil for about 2 month's I have a couple veins that are very hardened like knots. I had a friend that used about 9 month's and he never lost his hand's or anything. I have never gotten serious complications yet (knock on wood!!) But I have heard of people losing there arm's and all that and have seen the video's I personally met a lot of coaxil addict's that are doing ok though.

'Krokodil' (codeine derivative) Use?

Today I read 2 very disturbing articles about a new opiate epidemic in Russia. Basically, this drug is many times stronger than heroin, but also much cheaper.

Krokodil is ten times harder and three times cheaper than heroin.

For many in Russia, this is much easier to come by than heroin. Most importantly, however, this opiate derivative is simply poisonous, and allegedly turns its users' skin scaly. Check the shocking images in the links that follow. Here is a picture that is somewhat less disturbing:

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone here on Bluelight has personally heard of someone using this drug or perhaps used other opiate medications to derive some sort of other unusual opiate 'crack'.

I'm going to take a peak to see if it exists and then swing this over to Drugs in the Media for you. Desomorphine is perfectly safe as far as I know but it's the low yields and toxic products that get the home bakers.

Okay merging into old thread to bump it from 2010 as it had some relevant discussion.

OD >>> DITM

Aha.. I check the 'DitM' and saw nothing, so I figured it was ok to start a new thread. It's interesting that a bunch of English-speaking sites all posted articles about 'Krokodil' almost the same day (including TIME).

UK - Krokodil: The drug that eats junkies

The home-made drug that Oleg and Sasha inject is known as krokodil, or "crocodile". It is desomorphine, a synthetic opiate many times more powerful than heroin that is created from a complex chain of mixing and chemical reactions, which the addicts perform from memory several times a day. While heroin costs from £20 to £60 per dose, desomorphine can be "cooked" from codeine-based headache pills that cost £2 per pack, and other household ingredients available cheaply from the markets.

It is a drug for the poor, and its effects are horrific. It was given its reptilian name because its poisonous ingredients quickly turn the skin scaly. Worse follows. Oleg and Sasha have not been using for long, but Oleg has rotting sores on the back of his neck.

"If you miss the vein, that's an abscess straight away," says Sasha. Essentially, they are injecting poison directly into their flesh. One of their friends, in a neighbouring apartment block, is further down the line.

"She won't go to hospital, she just keeps injecting. Her flesh is falling off and she can hardly move anymore," says Sasha. Photographs of late-stage krokodil addicts are disturbing in the extreme. Flesh goes grey and peels away to leave bones exposed. People literally rot to death.

Dr Yegorov says krokodil users are instantly identifiable because of their smell. "It's that smell of iodine that infuses all their clothes," he says. "There's no way to wash it out, all you can do is burn the clothes. Any flat that has been used as a krokodil cooking house is best forgotten about as a place to live. You'll never get that smell out of the flat."

President Dmitry Medvedev has called for websites which explain how to make krokodil to be closed down, but he has not ordered the banning of the pills. Last month, a spokesman for the ministry of health said that there were plans to make codeine-based tablets available only on prescription, but that it was impossible to introduce the measure quickly. Opponents claim lobbying by pharmaceutical companies has caused the inaction.

In addition to krokodil, there are reports of drug users injecting other artificial mixes, and the latest street drug is tropicamide. Used as eye drops by ophthalmologists to dilate the pupils during eye examinations, Dr Yegorov says patients have no trouble getting hold of capsules of it for about £2 per vial. Injected, the drug has severe psychiatric effects and brings on suicidal feelings.

Zhenya says every single addict he knows in his town has moved from heroin to krokodil, because it's cheaper and easier to get hold of. "You can feel how disgusting it is when you're doing it," he recalls. "You're dreaming of heroin, of something that feels clean and not like poison. But you can't afford it, so you keep doing the krokodil. Until you die."

or because it is made from chlorocodide, which looks like a misspelling of crocodile.

That video was pretty grim. srslyyy. The doctor seems like a real pro too. -.-

Russians are pretty hardcore eh? you must be pretty fucking deperate to rot to deth for your doc. :|

let's not confuse the language. it's phosphorous and other chemicals (eg codeine tablet filler) that are doing the real damage. legalized/pure desomorphine would probably be not too far from heroin...

Is it the drug itself or poor synthesis that causes such awful effects? Wikipedia (for what it's worth) says that desomorphine is used clinically in Switzerland.

True. What I meant was that most junkies in Russia would find this in a form containing said dangerous chemicals, because of a haphazard cooking process.

Permonid aka desomorphine was avalabile on the russian and eastern european black market I have used it a couple time's it's much stronger then morphine was a similar pins needles rush I always prefered heroin though as the high would last a lot longer. It also seemed to not have a bad histamine reaction like morphine although a very similar feeling which is weird but it was definetly a very good opiate. Now crocodile is very toxic form of desomorphine I also would like to say that the reaction requires Mr.muscle cleaning agent not sure which one exactly. The end result is very dirty yeilds are low only a couple dose's. The end result has a high amount of phosprus and iodine in it I forgot to mention this in my last post here. The amount of liquid I have seen people shoot is insane around 15-20 ml per shot.

HOLY SHIT THAT girl gave me a hard on with those perky little titties and tight looking little pussy!

On another note- fuck would someone please get these people some heroin?????
