cleansing your body after a long period of taking drugs

The reason some of us party is mimic to the feeling of being sober unfortunately we are pretty blocked cuz we all so fucked up in dee head mon

Get yourself some Milk Thistle... and drinks loads of water :)

I felt like shit a couple of weeks ago... being blunt here but my urine was very dark... and I had really bad pain just under my ribs, a tight clenched feeling... somebody nearly put the fear into me that it was my gall bladder... so I figured it was time to cleanse!

Milk Thistle is a liver tonic... but nevertheless I started on these again... and within about 2 days my pee was back to a pale yellow colour and I felt like the life had been brought back into me... :)

Other than Milk Thistle... I'd probably check out the other tonics and cleansing things they have at health food stores... and drink fresh juice... and eat plenty of fresh food... go organic and raw... and pass up on the refined shit :P (ie: don't eat white bread/rice that has no flavour... go for brown, wholemeal, grainy or rye!)

a good supplement to buy is chlorella, its a cleanser among other things.

it also helps protect your liver, boost immunie system, clean the bloodstream, there is a lot of info on the web about it.

one quick search came up with this link

my list (i work at vitamin world so this shit is cheap for me :P)

1) WATER gallon and half a day, drink it learn to love it learn to pee alot

2) the multivitamin, so crucial

3) Tripple strength cranberry extract (note for amphetamines this will take away from the affect but this is assuming that you are trying to clean out not go ice out :P)

4) Milk thistle extract 1000mg day (not the herb, the extract)

5) It's rough for a few days but the colon cleansors really do empty you out, literally

6) Get a good antioxidant their are tons out there

7) Vitamin Ester C 4grams a day (yes 4 grams)

8) Magnesium (i like to tweek sometimes ok ;) )

9) Noni juice and charcoal if you are really feelin bad down in the stomach

10) STOP EATING SHIT FOOD, START EXERCISING AND SLEEP ENOUGH!!!

I take all these things year round, i just decide what drugs im going to take and when i take breaks to clear out. I hope this could help some, if not it's just my list anyway :P

There is a drug rehab program that runs in my town that has a specific vitamin intake per day- it includes vitamins B and C, magnesium and zinc, plenty of water, but also has a mandatory hour in a sauna every day. This program runs for about 6 weeks and I have a couple of friends who have done it and they swear by usung a sauna regularly.

interesting. I used a sauna 1 time at a local gym and its like nothing i've ever done before. Something about it makes you feel refreshed.

According to Paul Pitchford's "Healing with Whole Foods", the herb "larrea divaricata" (chaparral) is cabable of removing drug deposits ouf of body cells, including the brain.

Yes. Drink lots of water and find yourself a steam sauna (along with the other things mentioned). Not sure about an hour a day though like the above poster mentioned, although I'm sure it doesn't get as hot as the one I go to. Especially if you are a smoker/ex-smoker, the steam is soothing to the lungs. You will definitely feel refreshed and it also makes you sleep like a baby if you do it close to bedtime.

doesnt anyone think the term drugs is mm bit too broad for this topic?

Only stuff i can imagine needing to help myself after are uppers (cause it just burns your calories away and maybe booze (cause it flushes out all those nutrients and vitamins and stuff)

well both cases i can reccomend magnesium supplements

only stuff that seems to be doing soemthing for me (feel less sleepy)

unfortunately it gives me nasty shits (anybody have any advice on this)

rehydrating yourself is pretty important with alcohol and uppers

now as for benzo's , opiates , weed , psychedelics dont feel like they harm my body in any way (mind differnt story)

Have you ever panicked before a piss test and gone online searching for detox pills? Well, they mostly work, esp. the ones with a lot of turmeric.

I agree with sleeping well. For a few days, sleep at 8 or 830 PM and get up at 6 and do some yoga/exercise. Eat fruit or juice vegetables for a few days.

If you're the type to go for a colonic, do it.

Also, you could try a liver flush. I had a severe liver problem (drug and chem related) a few years ago, and it was rememdied by a lifestyle change. However, I stlil know my liver is lodged up because I get immense reactions from a little drugs (especially chemicals, when I do try them), and drinking makes my liver hurt. Like, really hurt, if I drink too much. This is even with my "healthy" lifestyle. My doctor tried it (he's a bit unorthodox) and it got his gallstones out. He didn't even have to get surgery. I told him about my previous drug problem and he suggested it. I need time though.

I didn't think prescription drugs/benzos were harming me until I became really yellow and started puking something that looked very much like bile when I'd take them. You don't necessarily have to feel it immediately for it to be harmful. I felt pretty healthy, eating a relatively-alright vegan diet (not excessively fatty). I've tested it too. Recently I was on vacation and tried take a fair amount of benzos believing I was completely "cured" and ended up being immobilized by this pain in my liver next morning (just like old times!)

^
I looked yellow a lot when on opiates when i started off but never though much of it ,

did you experience this on benzos or opiates alone? , did you drink a lot , used pills that contains stuff like tylenol?

just interested , i always thought that opiates are pretty ok for your body and dont do damage except for stuff like darvon maybe.

I have done a lot of research into this and have had a lot of 1st hand experience some of the things I'm about to list has already been mentioned though, but these are the core things that I believe are very helpfull.

1. Omega 3 capsules (5x 1g a day) (deep sea, independent lab tested for mercury) (180mg EPA & 120mg DHA per 1g capsule) This will help relieve anxiety improve mental clarity etc while you withdraw from the drugs, its a brain food so it will help in repair, good stuff especially for xtc users.

2. chlorella (8 grams a day) havent tried this personally but am getting some today, it seems to be very good for detox.

3. Milk thistle, I have tried this, again this helps with detox.

4. light excercise in the mornings prefebly, 15 minute jog or 5 minute run, just to break a sweat, this will help more then you think.

5. Havent tried cranberry juice but this lowers your urine pH wich will increase excrecion of amphetamines.

6. water and more water but dont force yourself.

7. multi vitamin

8. suana is something I will be trying soon.

9. kyolic (aged garlic extract) something I started on today, read a lot of good things about this and detox.

I totally agree with thelaststep's post except for 9) how can you drink charcoal man? dont you spew? I had to drink 2 cups of the stuff at hospital once for accidently taking my mums diabetes tablets, I remember uncontrolably throwing up on the hospital floor and then giving the inside of the toilet bowl a contrasting 'paint job' with explosive diarrhea, but I guess you probly only take a teaspoon or so.
Noni juice is a scam.

Personally I would just water fast for 3 days straight. I know it sounds hard but it is manageable. Your body will finnaly have time to stop digesting food and will start breaking down all of your stored fats. It will burn the bad stuff you dont need and store the good nutrients and minerals in your body. You may notice your skin getting a little bit of an odor, and you will constantly sweat, as well as your tongue will start to get a layer of toxins on it as your body basically filters out the unneeded mass in anyways it can. After the first day of not eating you really wont feel hungry anymore. I definately would fast on a weekend where I didnt have to do anything though. You dont want to be doing anything to physical either so you dont pass out. But uhh after that I would just eat healthy foods, and take multivitamins, and regular exercise.

If your gonna fast for 3 days, it should be a juice fast, celery juice, watermelon juice, orange juice etc, not just water, your liver needs vitamins to detox, when you burn fat it releases the toxins into your bloodstream for your liver, and I wouldnt recomend it while your going through acute withdrawals, it should be, say 2 weeks(or more) after going cold turkey, as after you quit drugs there will be enough toxins in your body from the recent drug use to give your liver and mind enough of a work out.

^ no food for 3 days and no water, that has to be the stupidest detox plan ive heard, the majority of your body is made of water, wouldn't you think that would be the best thing for it ?

^going without food for THREE days is just putting un-needed stress on your body anyway. Glucose is what your body uses for fuelling its processes, your brain can not use any other form of energy besides this. Plus your body breaks down proteins (gluconeogenisis), before it breaks down fat when forced into starvation mode, this is extremely unfavourable!
