Clarifications of Ketamine's action on sleeping

Good morning bluelight (it's 8.37 a.m. here :D)!
I just woke up after another strange night, made of falling asleep and waking up many times (i hate it -.-)
Now, I'm quite curious because normally a bowl of good hash or bud it's sufficient for me to sleep good for 6-8 hours and stay relaxed during the sleep.
In those days the problem intensified.
i'm going to leave tomorrow to go to an Hippies' village to change my lifestyle completely and live in the nature, so i'm probably a quite anxyous and have trouble sleeping also because of this, but I find quite strange that, after one (really) big bowl I can't sleep more than 1-2 hours... obviously if I don't smoke i simply can't rest...I'm not hyperactive, i mean, i don't "have to move and do something", simply my brain doesn't deactivate...so I decided to try some ketamine before sleeping to help me relax my mind...i had 2 lines of about 50mg, smoked a bowl and had another 50mg line after that bowl..i felt all the typical effects, after the first 2 lines i felt stoned, my visuals started going weird and distorted and my body didn't respond really good to my mind (coordination, distances..)...after the 3rd one I really started to feel dissociated but couldn't sleep...after 2 hours of k-tripping in my bed with open eyes i decided to drastically fall asleep so i managed to reach my desk (2 meters from bed ahahah) and snorted a whole 0,15 line (not the puriest ketch on the market but surely ketamine and surely good quality).
Now, here my mind gone completely weird, synesthesia was predominant, remarkable dissociation, inner and outer world spinning around, my body was distant from my mind...but still couldn't sleep!! I managed falling asleep after 1 - 1.30 hour, probably in an endogenous way...
Now after this interesting report my question is...how the fuck couldn't I sleep with 4 lines of ketch and a bowl?
First of all i tought about cut..but i didn't feel any stimulation like meth or speed...
I also tought about ampa receptors, which if i remember well can be activated when nmda recs are agonized and release dopamine..
further theories?
(DISCLAIMER: I just woke up, probably my english is as good as using a Simmenthal to snort on)

Ketamine acts on dopamine receptors. That's the reason why you couldn't sleep.
Kick the habit 'smoking a bowl before sleep'. Weed negatively influences REM-sleep.

I heard ketamine being a DAT inverter but i always tought nmda-blocking to overwhelm the dopamine effect..also considering ket is an anesthethic...

Meaning i can't dream well or i can't get a proper sleep if i smoke before?

You think REM sleeps only function is to dream?

The REM sleep is your deepest sleep and is important for a good quality sleep.

The dopamine re-uptake inhibiting effects of ketamine are what prevents you from falling asleep on it or short after it. These effects aren't extremely intense though, if you're really, really tired you may fall asleep anyway but it will keep you up more easily. I have fallen asleep on ketamine a few times though, but usually also on other drugs or on a really high dose. On a medium dose or when it's wearing off sleeping usually won't be easily for atleast an hour after ketamine.
