Cigarettes...

Neither you or me can tell who will laugh in 40 years, but I'm quite certain who is laughing now.
Even now I feel a big difference, compared to the time when I used to smoke.
You have got a lot of more energy, the smell of everything is much more intense and better, I am better at most sports activities.
Cigarettes sucks and nicotin addiction get sometimes even compared to a heroin addiction. sad but true and I think most smokers are not even aware of that before they try to quit.

Perhaps the pure physical addiction of heroin is right up there with nicotene but cigs are nowhere near as addictive mentally. Thus, quitting is still VERY hard but not quite as hard.
Anyways here's my lame update- If you guys remember I started off at 8 cigs/day 8 days ago and planned to smoke one less cig each day. It has been tough today and yesterday but before that wasn't hard. Hell, I'm already starting to feel a little bit better so that is nice. I plan on attempting to be a part time smoker and even though I may fail I can only see these last days as positive.
I've had two cigs so far today (I'm allowing myself 4 today)and right now I'm missing the nicotene buzz that I have been getting the past couple of days. Smoking one more now would mean trouble for later tonight. Shit, I just might allow myself 5 today :( I guess it's better than a half pack or 3/4's though.

yeah but i had to smoke some MJ the other night to not smoke a cig...and im kinda upset at myself because i was trying to not smoke ANYTHING
but ah well :) still clean of nicotine (hey it rhymes!)

OH SHIT! We were quitting weed too? I didn't know that shit....anyway, still haven't smoked a cancer stick, but I might have hit numerous blunts and bongs..... :o

no, this is just the quit cigs thread, u can start ur own quit weed thread :) i can never *really* do that 100%

Hey today marks my three months and three day anniversary of the last time I had a cigarette! Just doing my own little personal jig with the rest of ya :)

Well that's just freaking great, my long response got deleted because of my stupid "T1". Anyways I might just have to keep my cigarette intake at 4-5 a day :-/

i quit smoking for a few months...
now ive sorta been smoking on weekends when i drink or whatnot
i really should stop that, because its going to make me start again... just sometimes its so nice to have a menthol or two or half a pack... when, you kno.. :)

As much as smoking sucks I still enjoy smoking very much :( Guess that's my problem. I wish I could brainwash my stuborn self

congrats to all you guys that are doing so well.
I remember when I was about 16 years old when 'all the cool kids did it' and I really should have gotten addicted. I didnt *like* the smell nor the taste of cigarettes, but I smoked that many withing 3 months that I cannot see how it didnt snag me.
Then one day after those 3 months I never smoked again.
And im so thankful :)
Anyhow for those who *really* want to quit but cant quite get the willpower to achieve, I have gotten a tried and true, guaranteed method to get you off those cancer sticks as told to me by my now Ciggy-Clean friend.
---------------------------------------------
1. Buy 2 packs of the most tar-ridden, strongest cigarettes that you can find
2. Sit down and begin smoking one after the other. No stopping...continue chain smoking those filthy tar bloated sticks until you think you will be sick.
3. Keep smoking them until you are forcefully sick. Then keep smoking till you throw up a second time.
4. Now grab whatever cigarettes remain and start eating them. Yes EATING them. 2 at a time chewing slowly and swallowing.
5. Proceed to be as violently ill as humanely possible.
6. Take whatever cigarettes remain and crush/throw/bury them...ditch them in the most symbolic way you can think of.
After these steps have been taken you would probably feel sick to the core even thinking about cigarettes...at least for 48 hours for the physical cravings to subside, and more than likely for much longer (maybe forever).
7. The next week, use that newly saved $30 to buy a brand new CD.

Hurrah. Welcome to Shnouzerpuff Healthville.
(note: dont try that quit method with heroin :) )

this can't be a good idea...

i think that would do alot of harm, trying to chain smoke 2 packs...just STOP! the more u smoke the harder it is...

oh yeah its not exactly "good" for you in a healthwise sense, but since its a one off and you are quitting then its for the greater good.
The friend who swears by this method feels sick even thinking about smoking now and couldnt go out to a pub or club for about 3 months because of it.
But hey, whatever works.
