Most American notes contain tiny traces of cocaine from people using them to snort coke. (someone puts the bill back in their wallet, fine grains get on the rest of the currency, which in turn get on the currency in the cash register, etc.) For awhile, cops seized such notes under asset forfeiture laws. I believe the courts finally ruled such seizures to be illegal.

I know a piercing place in the Chicago-land area that uses those to put small jewelry like nose rings and stuff in. There are definitely other uses.

actually, i've used those bags for my nephew and his daily pill needs. i used much the same when i was a sickly boy -- better than trusting someone else with proper dosage requirements. dosages are issued in little baggies and given at the beginning of the each week to the school nurse.

this is just another knee-jerk reaction.

so chicago bans little baggies? so what? do you REALLY think this will put a dent into drug sales? what? i can't buy them online? i can't go outside city limits to get them? if i'm a for serious drug dealer, i guarantee i'd be willing to drive 10 miles outside of chicago to stock up. then i'd be out, what? $15 gas? maybe?

chicago has all the tools they need to fight drugs.

this is just stupid bullshit to inconvenience people and make it SEEM like they are doing something 'innovative'.

I doubt this is going to be very enforceable, but don't get caught with them in your car. ..in fact don't get caught with anything in your car. Those pennies in your pocket could have been used to crush that oxy you just snorted. If fact it might not be safe to drive anymore or walk outside either unless you're wearing the standard fascist business suit, of course.

There's another thread right now about turnpikes, maybe some of us should build secret underground roads for the rest of us to use. ;)
 
Right after this ban goes into effect, the regular plastic bag sales will skyrocket. The regular plastic bag lobby had a strong hand in this one...I can sense it. :)
 
They'll just use bigger bags...

Doesn't make much sense. If someone really wants them they can just drive outside of the city and pick them up.
 
Molly capsules are more common nowadays for $10-$20 amounts of "powder" type drugs (heroin and coke basicly). I wonder if they realize that and if so will they try to ban GNC and other health food stores from selling gelatin capsules "for herbs"? Kinda strange they haven't already since they can be used for mollys.
 
damn... at least baggies are reusable. i guess dealers are gonna have to go back to using foil and cling wrap, because surely a dealer has no access to the illegal baggy market.
 
^^ For weed they use baggies alright. Coke for me usually came in like the corner of a plastic bag tied off. Heroin comes in baggies or foils, depends on the person. Once I had coke in paper wraps, once or twice heroin in paper wraps. Never seen capsules or wax bags.

All the dealers will just run out and buy em all up now to stock up.
