Cheaper? 5-htp

Ive been buying Dr Vera's - 5-Hydroxy Tryptophan Plus. I live in Qld so can buy at stores, but it is exy. The capsules contain :
5 Hydroxy Tryptophan 75mg
Thiamine Hydorochloride 30mg
Riboflavine 25mg
Pyrioxal 5 phosphate 5mg
Folic acid 100mcg
Chromium picolinate 50mcg
Magnesium 10mg
For anyone that might know , are there any problems with any of these vitamins/minerals etc and mdxx or whiz usage ????
 
Well, one could say very broadly "no". All those funky little chemicals other than the chelated chromium and the magnesium are just your basic B group vitamins. They actually help the body with the absorbtion/metabolation of 5-HTP, so more power to you.
The chromium is probably there to apparently help the use of 5-HTP as a weight loss supplement, and magnesium is always good for cramps, muscle fatigue and the such.
I really doubt the effectiveness of the chromium though, cause the studies I've seen bouncing around show that we westerners have more than enough chrome in our bodies.

I just paid $65 for 120 caps of 100mg 5-HTP (delivered).
This guy's site wants $55 for 30 caps of 75mg 5-HTP. To buy the equivalent amount... it would cost you $274 all up.

further to my original post about recoverE and the 5-HTP I ordered. Just to clear up quickly I am not connected with recoverE in anyway except as a customer, believe it if you will, paranoia if you won't. I made my order on Monday night around 8pm with credit card through the website and when i got home today (Thursday) there was a happy little red and white card from Australia Post in my mail box. All I have to do now is get myself off the 9-5 treadmill long enough to pick it up. Make of this what you will, I just thought I'd share my experience.

does anybody know how long it takes an order confiscated by customs to come through the post?
I have ordered 4x100mg 5-htp from club natural and its been almost a month. All my previous orders have come through in under 2 weeks so im starting to get suspisious. :(
 
Confiscated would mean you'd get a letter in the mail saying your goods had been withheld I think. Usually 5-HTP comes through OK with a "Opened, Inspected and resealed by customs" tape on it.

thats what I mean... last couple of times I have ordered from club natural it has taken under 2 weeks even after being opened and resealed by customs.
I was wondering how long does any letter or the like take to arrive if they have confiscated anything? maybe it explains the delay
 
Dunno, but I made an order of 4 bottles 60 caps 100mg 5-HTP from them last night, so we'll see if there's a backlog of orders or not. Maybe everyone's buying 5-HTP for the festive season?

I just recieved some 5-HTP tabs i bought from the New Zealand site listed in one of the threads. It only took a week to come. I booked it to my credit card and with the exchange rate actually worked out a bit cheaper than the price quoted on the site. Only extra cost was a 28c currency exchange fee. Didn't seem to be any problems with customs.
 
gfresh27: Have you received advice that your order has been:
a. received?
b. accepted?
c. shipped?
If so, then perhaps you should ring Clubnatural or email them to ask for an explanation on the shipping delays. Also, check to see if your credit card has been debited, which would be a way to tell if they've accepted payment for your shipment.

I'm in the process of final uni exams so i haven't really had a chance to track everything down...
My credit card was billed a month ago and so far an email to clubnatural has revealed they have shipped my order. A phone call to Australia post revealed they haven't send any packages to customs so I think its a dead end. Im still waiting for a reply to another email i have sent to both Customs and Australia post. Im gunna try to ring my local post office to see if anything comes up but im doubtfull. Hopefully it will turn up misplaced at my local PO but if not, im gunna try to get clubnatural to send me a replacement.
anyhow i'll post again when something happens
 
My order arrived intact, checked by customs, and all in good condition today - 7 days (5 business days) after ordering. Clubnatural still have my vote for most efficient 5-HTP source, due to the reliability of their service and the low frequency of difficulties with 5-HTP (only) orders.
[Edit: One difference between this order, and previous orders I've been sent by Clubnatural, is that the bottles are brown glass, instead of white plastic. The brand name, quantity, and substance contained in each capsule is identical to previously (Rest Factor, 4 bottles of 60 caps, Extract of griffonia simplicifolia equivalent to 100mg 5-HTP).
