Charlie Sheen let's loose!

Oh yeah - I've been reading rumors of them trying to get Lorre(sp?) and Sheen to work this out, apparently some are really trying to make the show happen again (not expecting anything/don't particularly care myself, but interesting given all this shit)

Oh come on lol..

If you had made Sheen dollars and failed to diversify enough to account for a divorce, or other unfortunate turn of events, then you deserve to be broke.

Plenty of people have been wiped out by divorces. Charlie isn't the first or the worst. Let's look at Paul McCartney and Tiger Woods just 2 mega million dollar divorces off the top of my head

What's your point?

They could get divorced 100x and still have more than I would ever need to live out the rest of my dream life.

This is a dumb conversation. I was just making a point about multi-millionaires being so disconnected from reality, that they say things without thinking of the other 99.99999% of the world.

/and people's personal #'s on a forum is distasteful, could've been a family owned business handed to her, or maybe she ran a distribution org off the table, doubt she'd want to air out either in the thread ;P

If you're talking about girlygrrl, nobody asked her for numbers or personal disclosure of any sort. In fact, nobody even posted a reply.

Heh I like that name ;P
You didn't ask her for personal disclosure, but your response to her post could very likely have required as much for her to answer it. I agree tho, DUMB convo - just seems an agree to disagree (You see it more in terms of cash-relative-to-others, I see it more in terms of cash-relative-to-oneself. Neither is right/wrong)

Oh come on lol..

If you had made Sheen dollars and failed to diversify enough to account for a divorce, or other unfortunate turn of events, then you deserve to be broke. You're certainly not WINNING, as Charlie is wholeheartedly claiming to be.

I don't see how income matters, and I don't see how bankruptcy is even applicable. Besides, going bankrupt and being broke are two completely different things.

Trump went bankrupt, remember? He sure as fuck wasn't broke.

Stop apologizing for this behaviour. If you're a multi-millionaire, don't complain about money. Ever. Complain about the carpet stains on your nephew's yacht or something.

STFU ... you don't know what its like to live the dream and have the rug pulled out from underneath you ... it is way worse than being on the outside looking in. I was making less than $2 million a year, which is hardly Sheen money, my hard expenses were over $12k a month and I spent most of the extra money on other business ventures that would have pushed me up to the next level if my cashflow had stayed consistent. A couple million in income/cashflow is nice but it isn't quite financial freedom, especially when you start rubbing shoulders with billionaires and realize how low far down on the chain you are.

I have every right to complain and you have no right to judge. While I know I have the ability to get back there when I get my headspace in the right mindset, the fact that I haven't done so has brought me to the point that I've had two suicide attempts. The fact that I've recovered multiple times and pick up and keep going *is* WINNING.

So frankly I do see Charlie Sheen as an inspiration on some levels, and I do have some level of empathy for him, even though I don't put him on a pedestal ... celebrity doesn't impress me the way it does for you, and you think having money is all about material things like yachts. But it's not, when you're rich you can positively impact thousands to millions of people and that is much more gratifying than material things. You just read too much TMZ.

No, really.. NOBODY ASKED.

Alright, I'll bite.. since everyone seems to be insisting I have a go here.

Let me try to sum up your contribution to this thread.

- You were wealthy by all standards, but got overly ambitious and lost it all on other ventures.
- You don't think cashing out couple million is financial freedom.
- You're all in shambles because you can't hang with the Vanderbilts. You come across like your life is otherwise meaningless without money.
- You have a right to complain on a public forum, on a thread about Charlie Sheen, yet I have no right to judge. Presumably because I'm po' folk.
- You find Charlie Sheen an inspiration.
- You aren't impressed by celebrities like us commoners. You have a different perspective, being on the inside.
- I read too much TMZ. Clearly, because Education & Careers and Science & Technology screams, "TMZ fan"

I'm starting to think that SangerRainsford wasn`t far off in his speculation that you ran a family business into the ground, or the business died with your partner because you were just along for the ride.

Not that it matters, but I didn't run the business into the ground; In fact I'm still making a living from said business. And no it was not a family business ... I was one of my business partner's clients and we hit it off and I realized that if we worked together then we could make an unlimited amount of money since all of his weaknesses were my strengths and vice-versa. Because of my involvement within three months the company was making 10x the amount of money and I was given 50% ownership.

I'm sorry but when your business partner dies it is not so easy to just pretend like everything is okay and to magically bounce back without taking a major hit. Maybe once a company gets to the level that there is a board of directors and the owners aren't actively involved in the day to day business. But not with a startup that is still fledgling.

- You were wealthy by all standards, but got overly ambitious and lost it all on other ventures.

It wasn't overly ambitious it was quite reasonable given what I knew at the time.

- You don't think cashing out couple million is financial freedom.

You clearly don't understand the concept of cashflow. A business may be worth $10 million but that doesn't mean that its owners have seven figures just sitting in their bank accounts.

- You're all in shambles because you can't hang with the Vanderbilts.

I don't give a shit about the Vanderbilts.

- You come across like your life is otherwise meaningless without money.

It's not money that appeals to me. It is freedom. It is having purpose. It is the feeling of making a real contribution to society instead of sitting around smoking pot all day and watching TV, which I imagine is your level of ambition.

- You have a right to complain on a public forum, on a thread about Charlie Sheen, yet I have no right to judge. Presumably because I'm po' folk.

Since you've apparently never experienced wealth and loss of wealth then you're in no position to judge.

- You find Charlie Sheen an inspiration.

To a degree ... like I said I don't put him on a pedestal, but I like that he's pulling himself up by the bootstraps and moving forward.

- You aren't impressed by celebrities like us commoners. You have a different perspective, being on the inside.

I have celebrity friends, so I see celebrities as people and not as some kind of untouchable beings to be worshiped or gawked at. Even if we do consider ourselves goddesses or warlocks or whatever. So I may be impressed with someone's talent or attitude or approach to life, but I'm not impressed by fame nor do I feel a need to hero-worship. Fame is overrated anyway unless you can use it to your advantage as Charlie is.

- I read too much TMZ. Clearly, because Education & Careers and Science & Technology screams, "TMZ fan"

No, what screams TMZ fan is your inability to understand that there is more to wealth than popularity and materialism.

^ If you're still making a living from the business that you run then be happy. I am sorry you're not a millionaire anymore, but there are people in much worse shape in this country anymore.

I will agree with you on the cashflow though, liquid assets are a whole different story from business assets

This is, obviously, going nowhere good, and this was a fun thread. I'm not going to respond to some obvious things said since my last posts, hopefully everyone can just drop this.

someone needs to get a 'winning' remix on here or something ;P

Making a living is better than being on the streets but it is hardly a recipe for happiness, just for survival.

What's your point? The best way I can help others is by being successful. <3

If your success is helping others Girlygrrl then I wish you the best on that venture. This still is a fun thread Sanger, and immortal by the looks of it, just when you think it's dead it gets bumped.

Yeah totally agree!

He's a voice for us addicts and its good to have someone that's not embarrassed or ashamed about using and abusing drugs to publicly vocalise that and rub that out of it behaviour in their faces...if I went on TV and said "i was bangin 7 gram rocks and finishing them" the viewers would say "piss off you junkie loser"

Hey have a look at the video link to charlie sheen and you will clearly see one nostril is way bigger than the other....true have a look ;)

You find Charlie Sheen an inspiration.

Another reason I like Charlie is that he reminds me a lot of my biz partner. He was just as eccentric and just as "manic" as Charlie was, but his charisma and WINNING attitude made a big difference. He also didn't give a shit about telling it like it was.

DrugFuctNZ/Grlygrl - absolutely!!!!!!!!! I used to see him as more of a "wholesome-ish" actor with a crazy-enough lifestyle.
Now that he's going full-blown manic, heavily abusing drugs, but is still killing it, well, I can relate heavily to all 3, so yeah, I'm lovin the dude!! Also he doesn't seem to have come down from the manic fit yet, whereas most go back to depression quickly, which I also relate to- my manic phases don't end w/ hard depression or anything ;P

1) to have freedom and purpose, relative to the "average commoner"? 8)

2) lazy people browsing bluelight and youtube on pot probably have a better net contribution to "society" than people moving large amounts of money (said "not lazy" people have a lot of negative contribution to make up for)...

When I saw this for the first time I couldn't help going "Wow wow what the fuck did he do to himself?", but gradually I was sucked into his somewhat deranged monologue, and I must admit it's strangely intriguing, sucked me right in. Seemed like some form of very advanced performance art, using an highly artificial language or slang developed for this purpose.
