@Jibult What is this r6.6k of which you speak?
If me posting pics causes an issue, I’ll gladly switch;but I’ve had ADSL since, uh 1991 - and high speed piracy (IRC) at work since forever. Honest.
But I do sympathize; first time I bought a home computer and got a 2400 bps modem I was like wtf is this shit cus I already had 10 mbps (that’s why I always worked late on Friday nights so I could attend to matters best conducted outside of prying eyes).
In the old days there was *zero* network monitoring and I could/did just store downloaded files on the mainframe. Sigh.
Tom
I may've misremembered the name!
Fuckin' dial-up internet, man. Those old modems and the AOL start-up sounds and getting kicked off of Diablo 2 because your brother decided HE needed to play so he took a housephone off the hook and taking 3 and a half days to download a South Park episode.
i don't know what the K stands for but I definitely remember the modems being called 56K.
