I may've misremembered the name!

Fuckin' dial-up internet, man. Those old modems and the AOL start-up sounds and getting kicked off of Diablo 2 because your brother decided HE needed to play so he took a housephone off the hook and taking 3 and a half days to download a South Park episode.

i don't know what the K stands for but I definitely remember the modems being called 56K.
 
I think K is gonna refer to kilobytes and k kilobits. And 8 bits makes a byte, and 8 kilobits makes a kilobyte. I think. To me it means slow. yeah to the modem noise. Sounded like someone killing a bunch if crows.

For networked games I went from Rogue to Doom/Quake to Covilization and I’ve stuck there since 2003? Civilization VI since you told me bout it years ago. Civ VI( will be released on February 5th, and fuck me for the absolute, top of the line deluxe version of the game, Steam lists it as $166.99 Cdn. Ouch.

Hooked now , so it’s a day 1 purchase

none of the specs for the Mac have been mentioned and I’m hoping not to buy a new computer, but in order to play Civ….

lmao, i remember you talking about that so long ago.

I think I remember reading about 7 coming soon and it's cool and all but I'm really not excited.

But honestly? I think I liked the series best with 3 and 4. 5 and 6 with their expansions just added a lot of unnecessary complexity to the mid- to late-game, and I really just enjoy the early game when you're expanding your borders.

Once it's time to start specializing cities I normally lose interest pretty quickly.

In contrast, I'm so anxious for GTA6 that I caved in and went back to GTA5 online. Had to start a new character thanks to a console upgrade a while back....

next thing i know i'm level 186 and grinding the night away.

I bought an XboxX some special edition with game credits to download for a year. I bought the GTA series but never played them. Dying Light, Stalker and a bunch of others and all the Fallouts and Skyrim’s - but have only played Fallout. Then back to Civ VI + DLCs, Field of Glory and Second Front.

Yeah once you’ve expanded the borders of your empire to the limits (there really is a book called The Limits of Empire, nothing to do with the game) it’s about stabilizing and then concentrating on either science or industry I find. If you gas science you can get a tech lead; if you gas industry, you can outproduce opponents).

If I had to guess, and I will ask later tonight, I’d say it was probably because the thread was getting too big. My guess is that the forum software might have trouble past a certain point/number. But please, start another thread; I enjoyed your pics and am politely envious.

I bought two strains (7g each) of an indica and a sativa when I visited a legal shop in a neighboring state recently, along with some traditional hash made from indica bud. Also a distillate vape cart but it's BDT flavored and I only value it for the instant high one drag offers. Great for foreplay :sneaky:

It's all very dope and it was my second time ever going to a dispensary. First time buying legal bud and hash. The prices were obscene like I was back in high school unless I bought an ounce. Hash was standard priced to the only time I've bought street hash.

But yeah, very exciting. Impossible to get the smell to go away but I love it and it's a wonderful smell to inhale right as I crawl into bed :)

I want to put the hash into long term storage for special times. I found that after about 7-8 years my last chunk of hash lost a lot of potency and taste but I kept it room temp in a jar in a dime bag. The packaging for this legal hash says best stored in a freezer; I cannot imagine moisture would be good, so I'm wondering if any of y'all know a good way to store hash long term. Thanks!

That's awesome that cannabis is becoming more accessible in your area for sure.

in va you can pretty much buy it at the store now, i mean, probably depending on the shop but it has been something i've run into in va, guys just selling declared thc9 cannabis flower at the place you'd get vapes, tobacco, bongs etc. I don't think its a universal thing yet, just dependent on the shop and what they're willing to risk i'm sure... but i dont think they'd be doing it too openly if they hadn't like talked it through with the town police or something and that it wouldn't be a problem.

that's definitely a massive change overall since it was when i was a kid. The price of an 8th has also dropped by like 30 percent, not adjusted for inflation. It's nice to see things turn around, I think cannabis is just a human staple really, just as a traditional herbal medicine or socially valuable consumable.

Apparently, the regular cannabis use rates beat out alcohol rates for the first time in 2022. That's pretty awesome, i think.
