Hey guys,
I did a 20k bike race today and it was a really good experience. I'm proud of myself. I didnt do too bad considering i thought the race was the next day and got 4 hours of sleep, was slightly hungover, and didnt have a proper touring bike haha.
Xork- great post above. I relate to that in a lot of ways also. Putting the ego in perspective to navigate this reality and self actualize is difficult. Sometimes I just see my ego as this construct of habits- many of which I am trying to break free from and grow from. But the ego allows you to keep going further...and further (if you catch my drift) and its a beautiful thing as well- tis the paradox. Anyways, that is wonderful you have that complimentary energy with your wife. I had something similar with my exgf but extenuating factors like serious addiction and all that baggage slowly dissolved it. What a learning experience that was.
But here I am- a year older, a year wiser and am finally figuring out what makes me happy and what I love. Sure ego struggles get me down a lot but that's the flow of life.
Have a great weekend guys. I am currently preparing for final exams and looking forward to seeing some old friends soon and to do a lot of biking, camping, hiking, gardening, yoga, concerts, and good times this summer. Enjoy the May breezes.
