Guys,

I wonder if anyone can confirm whether my personal experience is common and explain the chemistry of what happens.

Pretty much every time I roll, the day after (or better afternoon after!) when I have a carb heavy meal (pizza, pasta, lots of bread) I get into what I call "food coma", like feeling very lethargic, difficult to move, stomach a bit upset, mild nausea and general feeling like a bloated zombie. It's like the feeling you get when you overeat carbs but way stronger! The feelings lasts for about 15 minutes and it improves quite fast.

Somehow I think there is a connection between this experience and serotonin levels, carbs supposedly increase serotonin levels, this should be good since after Mandy your insulin levels are low, however the personal experience is far from pleasant.

Anyone knows more about this? I'm really curious about how this works...

Cheers!

Lys

it doesnt really have much to do with the food, your just experiencing a comedown. best thing to do the morning after if your feeling shitty, is smoke a bunch of bud, drink LOTS of juice to get a bunch of vitamin c in you and get rehydrated, drink water too. ill normally wait untill the afternoon to start eating much, then i smoke some weed first to get my hunger back and then try to eat a some carbs and a lot of protien. it seems for me that eating something like a steak or anything else high in protien does wonders

I don't think it's anything directly related to MDMA or the lack of Serotonin... i myself find lethargic and tired after a high carb meal during every day sober life. If i eat a lot of carbs for lunch, i need a 20 minute power nap while my body goes through the initial digestion stages..

After a big night out on MDMA your body will be low on a lot of resources, energy being one of them. Your body is probably sucking all the energy you have to do the work and digest the carbs. digesting carbs requires more energy then digesting most other foods.

Lack of Serotonin levels may also make it a little more difficult for your body to manage your energy resources?

haha completely irrelivant but ive looked at the title to this thread a few times tonight and keep thinking it says "crabs after a night of mdma" haha just made me laugh a but thinking about what kind of story youd have then

Seratonin does play a major role in the metabolism of Carbs so any drug that messes with your seratonin (SSRI's) could in theory alter the way your body reacts on a carb heavy meal. I personally havent heard of anyone having problems with carbs directly after a roll - try something lighter perhaps?
