I've been smoking/vaping cannabis (or concentrates) daily since 2006 when I got clean from H, and have tried a few times to cook edibles, with the previous last time being an ounce of high quality bud in a single batch of oatmeal cookies. Let the butter and weed sit in the crockpot on low for about 8 hours, made sure to add soy lecithin, and actually ended up with fairly strong cookies (or so I thought) although the high was relatively subtle.
A few days ago I decided to make some cookies again, but took the time to decarb the weed first at 240° and am AMAZED at the difference! The high is not subtle at all, and now I realize that I wasted the ounce last time as those cookies could have been SO much stronger! This time was 7g of decarbed high grade in a single batch of cookies, and two cookies (.25g per for .5g total) gets me nice and lit for about 8 hours. I've been eating two cookies in the morning before work and two late in the afternoon and I'm good all day! Unfortunately because the dough ended up overly moist the cookies spread out too much and wouldn't come off the sheet in one piece, so they're mostly crumbs, but yummy potent crumbs - Next batch will be 14g of high grade in one batch, but smaller cookies and less flattening.
Just figured I'd share here since this isn't worthy of a new post, but ffs if you make edibles make sure to decarb first or you'll be kicking yourself when you finally do!
