Totally unexpected results

After becoming somewhat familiar with Ecstasy, I worked up the courage last night to try weed. The results were completely unexpected.

A friend and I shared a joint. We smoked it all at once. Although I did not know what to expect, the high was much different than I anticipated. I thought it would be child's play. I'm thankful I wasn't afraid. I don't mean for this to be a trip report, so I'm not going to go through the whole experience.

I was surprised to find that everything kind of swayed and breathed. At one point I was sitting in a chair and became unable to move my lower body. Somehow I knew that my feet were so heavy that it was impossible to lift them off the floor. At one point a friend and I tried to fold a pile of clean shirts, but each shirt seemed to take a lifetime to fold and after the third one I finally became so overwhelmed that I had to drop it and lay on the floor and just feel good.

I was surprised by how it came in sudden waves. Out of the blue suddenly things would escalate and each time it was different. I walked into the living room to talk to my partner when a wave hit me, and I can't even explain what happened. Suddenly I wasn't really me and was just a part of everything is the best way I can say it. It was like somehow I was existing in all kinds of different dimensions at one time. It was surreal.

At other times a 'surge' would hit me and I would zone out and when I looked around, the room would be at a weird angle. Other times my feet would buzz and tickle. I'm usually very composed and all of a sudden I would want to stand up and act like a two year old and wave my arms and just say stupid things. What made it kind of sketchy was that unlike E, I realised just how retarded I was behaving at the time.

I tried to go for a walk, and for the first time experienced drug paranoia. Although it wasn't scary and didn't cause anxiety, I felt so totally out of control and that I wouldn't be able to hold it together if I needed to, unlike E. It felt like everyone was watching me and my buddy and knew just how stupid we were.

The most amazing thing were the closed eye visuals. I had no idea I would experience such a thing. For the first time in my life I had brilliantly coloured fractal and geometric patterns. Fireworks exploded. Fields of amorphous shapes danced and flashed to the beat of the psy-trance I was listening to.

I had no idea that weed would be that sort of experience. Everyone always told me that it made you giggly and feel really relaxed. Although there were some aspects of that, the peak of the trip was not what I would call super intense, but it was definitely a mind fuck.

Is this a pretty typical weed experience?

with high doses and low tolerance yep :P
once you smoke more you can control your dose better to get just the right amount you want.

typical for when you have a low tolerance. when you smoke everyday the high gets a lot different but it's still enjoyable in other ways.

What all the others said. You * definitely * had a cannabis experience.

These 'mind fuck' experiences can be really fun, provided you won't have to meet other people, do a job etc .

If you want a more subtle effect, which allows you to go out, meet people, go to a club, have fun, be giggly and so on, I suggest you simply smoke much less. A low dose weed high is a very pleasant experience: you are in control, euphoric, talkative; other people will not notice you are 'on something', but YOU will know it ! As with all drugs the important thing is not to try and fight the effects, but just let it happen and feel relaxed.

Basically I think what you expected was the low dose high. Both low and high dose are pleasant, yet very different. To me on a low dose the 'stimulant' effect of cannabis has the upper hand (combined with very mild psychadelic effects, such as a different sense of time, music that sounds great, thought that are interesting and so on) , whereas on a high dose the 'sedative' effect takes the upper hand, and the psychadelic effects are much stronger (not being able to concentrate, getting lost on the way home, fear/paranoia, visuals...)

Its good to read this and remember that taking a break might serve us well every once and a while. My most intense feelings on weed are the bod rushes and head rushes. Oh course sex on weed is most amazing. Unless you smoke too much and just want to sleep.

yup thats exactly wat smoking weed wa slike for me in the beginning .... now it way different, i dun get CEV's any more but i used to juz sit there with my eyes closed and watch the patterns..... damn i miss those days :(

LOL @ bluedolphin.

Yeah, a perfect experience for a first time. I didn't get high the first time I smoked, and my visuals weren't as 'loud' as yours when I finally did. I don't even get them now, which sucks, but I get the same feelings. Best thing in the world.

Wow, this is news to me and i've been smoking for over 6 years, can i ask where u live, like us, uk?

I've never tripped on weed, or had anything happen really, i usally just get really mellowed out and i like to sit down i feel good, and i get mild body highs, but nothing ever like this.

I think this may be because there are 2 main weed types or something, but i'm not sure.

Any idea's?

I don't think this has much to do with sativa or indica strains, or weed versus hash......it has everything to do with a lot of potent weed/hash and a low tolerance.....

Sounds like a typical first time weed high to me :)
Congats it worked the first time too!

Some people get visuals on weed, some people don't.
I do when I have a low toelrance, but sometimes I can even though I'm smoking 20 cones a day...

So what do you think of Cannabis? Do you want to try it again and would you think of combining it with MDMA?

BTW, Nice well written report. I know you said you weren't meaning it as a report, but it DOES fit the exact guidelines of a trip report basically.. so im gonna change the title and steal it, okay? ;) Or PM me if ya wanted it to stay in CD.

answering some questions

Hey guys! Thanks for the replies. I was very happy with the responses I received.

There was a question as to where I'm located. I am in Vancouver, British Columbia. I do not know anything about strains or what type of weed it was. I received 2 joints from a friend's roommate and on the bag they were in she wrote, "BC Bud". That's all I know about it.

As to what I think of Cannabis, it definitely is something I will try again. After all, I have the second joint to consume. ;)

I was sharing this experience with a friend and my partner, who did not partake. For a first time, it was probably good to have people around, but I found my 'trip' kept getting interrupted by them talking or moving around. Personally, I found that I was wanting to be alone. I would start to get into a really interesting headspace and then it would get interrupted, and I would feel a bit frustrated. I kept wishing everyone was gone and I could crank up the stereo and lay back on the couch and just 'go somewhere'.

I have uncertain feelings about mixing MDMA with Cannabis due to the difference in the highs that I experienced. For me MDMA is a strong stimulant and along with its stimulant properties gives me a very clear head. To me one of the best parts of MDMA is how you can feel so high but yet feel so in control. There is so much depth of emotion to the experience. MDMA makes me want to be very active and if it's good quality it makes me feel so overjoyed to be alive that I want to dance wildly for hours.

On the other hand, the Cannabis experience seemed to be toward the other end of the spectrum. That's not to say it wasn't great fun. It had a strong sedative effect. My head was muddled and the continuum of the experience was very non linear. Every few minutes it took a completely different direction. All in all, I felt quite apathetic and there was no real depth of emotion except awe. I experimented with dancing, and the only thing that seemed really 'appropriate' were slow waving and gliding motions. A very interesting contrast to MDMA was my choice of music. With MDMA I really appreciate fast, euphoric music with a hard beat and while under the influence of Cannabis I found that I gravitated toward slow music with lots of interesting sounds, like Shpongle. They were the perfect backdrop for trips into space and somehow blended into the ambient instead of being the focal point.

For those reasons, I'm not sure how they would mix. Although I enjoy both types of highs, I can see each of them serving a unique purpose. I'm not sure how they would marry. It's actually a new thought and something I will be interested in researching to see if it's a combined effect I would enjoy.

I'm really thankful for bluelight, dancesafe and erowid. I experienced things during this experience that would have scared the shit out of me if I hadn't read about them during my research of psychedelics. Even though there was quite an awe when they occurred, I always knew in the back of my mind that I had read about it occurring and was more like, "cool....wow...I'm finally experiencing this."

Mixing the two can be be somewhat trippy, and definitely takes the edge off and helps you sleep on a rough mdma comedown.

I don't usually smoke in the middle of an mdma experience, but when I feel it starting to wear off there's nothing better.

peace

There is some point in the Cannabis + MDMA synergy that dissallows you to get any more stoned, it's a pain really. For me its around the 2 or 3 cone mark.

Cannabis + Acid is still the absolute pinnacle psychedelic experience.
