No.
In her book 'The Heroin Users' in her typical pithy style, Tam Stewart simply notes 'If you try smoking MS all you get is a funny smell'.
Now to be fair, I don't think she states if she was referring to MS powder or the MST Continuous tablets but the answer is still the same. I'm guessing it was an MST as pure MS powder is still ameanable to most of the other parentheral ROAs.
I've certainly seen someone TRY to put one of the old-style 100mg MSTs onto the foil. The old MSTs were made of a wax that slowly melted in the digestive tract hence slow release. So initially it looks quite promising as it forms a beetle akin to one formed from melted Afghan brown smoking heroin. But the problem is that it's the vapours of the wax the (attempted) user is inhaling and as I sat there the whole room began to smell like a Roman Catholic mass.
I recommend the book to anyone who wants to know what the Liverpool opiate scene was like in the 1980s. She doesn't condemn users and gives a lot of common sense good advice. If you don't know what 'aquadone' is but you use opioids, you probably should know.
