Can You Get High Without Drugs?

controlled deep breathing. Not hyper- ventilation. Slow, easy, controlled breathing. There are methods of putting yourself through the relaxation process, following Pranayama, that evoke an amazing, natural high. It's much subtler, but readily attainable, and the price is right

Or its just a bad case of HPPD, which it is but HPPD is a constant trip anyway so fuck it I dont know

It fades away over time , but the more you trip out the deeper you go and the longer it takes

I bet if you took a break for a few months you'd go back to feeling more "normal" whatever that means

The most exotic non drug related high must be lucid dreaming. It's not a quick process, but when you achieve it ... like being god, anything you think of happens. If you don't have an imagination just think ass'n'titties...or flying whatever floats your boat. =D

But the "come down" aka waking up is a bit hard sometimes... The first thought is always "that was AWESOME!" and the second "why did I wake up!?" :!

Well yea X is one of the pushiest drugs, so you can expect people involved in that to not understand subtle ways of augmenting consciousness (its still just kinda ignorant yes)...
It's like meditation or that pranayama which is taking something that you have been taking for granted all your life and waking up to the fact that it goes SO much deeper.
Waking up really requires you to face the fact that you have been asleep in a way dunnit?

Anyway why does it always feel like you have to tiptoe around these subjects not to make people feel like you think that you discovered something vital that they are oblivious to? It turns into personal critique so easily, all the fear and denial opposing freedom it is sad.

Ah man I totally forgot about lucid dreaming. :D
I used to try so hard a few years ago but could never get it right.

The "highest" (in every sense of the word) I have ever been is from the rush of summiting some mountains.

Are you being serious?

I can honestly say Ive had some of the best natural rushes whilst running and listening to quality hardcore or trance music and I get a feeling where I start getting shivers up my spine and my brain feels all fuzzy like I can feel the endorphins being released from my brain and in a way it makes me feel on top of the world and I usually run faster because I feel really aggressive in a good way then I end up feeling even better... then for the rest of the day I feel relaxed like a buddhist monk

I have never tried to have lucid dreams... but on around 10-15 nights in the past, I recall lucid dreaming... It was kind of like I woke up... but was still in my dream... when I realized I was dreaming I could completely control it.

I normally only remember dreaming in the morning once a month or two, though... so no clue if I would be capable of lucid dreaming regularly.

Since I smoked weed everyday, did Mushrooms every few weekends for about 6 months and now tryed LSD 3 times I can say I am fucking high and tripping out forever

so when you say you are 'high' do you mean in a good way or bad way like the comedown sense?

The most important thing is a dream diary. The bad side is you have to write it as soon as you wake up, which is pretty hard being all sleepy and want to sleep some more :).
And by "diary" I don't mean a proper diary, start by key words like: Bob, Mike, bus, driver alien, orange streets.

Thanks for the info... but the problem is when I wake up, I don't remember dreaming... It's like going from eyes closed to eyes open with time constriction... I just open my eyes again and hours have passed... very rarely do I dream (I know I do... just not conscious of it)

That usually happens to me when I go to bed very drunk. :|
Also I usually can't remember any dreams when I go to bed stoned.

But since I'm into this lucid dreaming I can remember at least 3 dreams a week, also the best time for dreaming is after at least 4 hours of good sleep. Sometimes the dream continues if you fall back asleep after writing the key words from the dream just experienced... it helps if you write it on a phone with the eyes closed. It also helps to read it again before going to bed the next day.

I just realized it's all been written before, so I've might as well just copy&paste from the links posted earlier... :p you just need to remember, it is a slow process, took me about a month and a half and around 10 recorded dreams to achieve about 10*sec of lucidity and than another 2 weeks for extra 30*sec...

*that's bullshit, time is relative, it could be 10sec or 1minute for all I know =D

sometimes just being alive feels better than any high.

Spring time for me is like a constant high.
i love watching flowers bloom and life spring up all around me.

i cant explain it really,
spring time is my natural high.

Yoga, meditation and sensory deprivation also work for some people and i have had mild success with them myself. But those require comitment and dedication (except for the deprivation chamber)

Life is deffo a high i agree.. you don't notice it but life is a rollercoaster of state changes with all sorts of different rushes buzzes and tripped out experiences, you just take half of them for granted.

EDIT: even negative experiences are so intense sometimes they can be like a trip of learning something.

I want a cop to ask me if I've been drinking so I can say "yeah about 9 so far".. "of pepsi!" :D

Yeah me too. It's too bad it only comes once a year.

It's the whole coming out of the winter that does it for me. If we didn't have winter we wouldn't appreciate the spring. :)

Listening to the right music in a highly emotion charged state has given me the highest euphoria I've ever experienced.

Often it's not euphoria though; it's just pure feeling. It could be horribly heartaching but the profundity of what is being experienced does certainly not need drugs to be experienced. Love is a powerful thing.
